You think teacher tenure is key to solving big problems in California? It doesn't even touch the heart of the issues. Attack the formulas. Fight illegal immigration. Don't just hand off responsiblility for redistricting to another bunch of bureaucrats--tighten the criteria for drawing the districts. Cut spending. Quit offering more socialism (land grabs, conservancies, taxpayer subsidized programs, global warming, etc.) Etc. etc. etc. Not only is he not attacking the central issues, he has created more.

You are absolutely right.

If he were going after the key problems, sincerely, I would be behind him 100%. He is wasting political capital that could be used toward making some real changes. The solutions are not rocket science. He just needs to turn away all those special interests and start acting like thinking like the fiscal conservative he said he was. Heck, he had a real spending cap put before him but instead chose the weak Prop 76 language which includes more borrowing and just about guarantees the continued rate of increased spending he has proposed and implemented the last two years. We need to eliminate expense, not just defer it. He promised an audit and capitulated to the CPR piece-of-garbage report, then mostly abandoned it all together... etc.

/rant off
