Please read the rest of the article because it lists the agencies that need donations. This is truly heartbreaking...Rescuers are desperate for donations either online via the Web or by phone. Contact:
* Noah's Wish, noahswish.com; (530) 622-9317.
* Humane Society, hsus.org; (301) 258-8276.
* American Humane Association, americanhumane.org; (303) 792-9900.
Please ignore the vitriol on this thread.
Many thanks for this info. These poor animals have been on my mind the past few days. I will call and make a donation.
NOT hsus.org.
They think pets are slaves.
It's an animal "rights" group, not a humane society.
[Freepmail me to get on or off the Kitty Ping List.]
Once Reggie and Sheba are taken care of, though, I'd gladly help the human victims who aren't trying to kill me. All of this after helping the humans whom I know and love, of course (wife, daughter, close friends, etc.) But then I'm a selfish bastard in the finest Randian tradition.
Money for dogs while people are dying? Talk about misplaced priorities. Get real.
Never heard of them before this. Hope they're good.
You can offer your house for fostering or transporting an animal here:

Um, to donate money to save cats and dogs when people are dying and otherwise in desperate need is criminal.
In times like this the only reason to save animals is to kill them to eat them.
Animals are LESS than important in this case.
Thank you for posting, Iluvlabs.
This is not an "either/or" situation for me. It is possible to help both people and animals.
One correction -- the number given for Noah's Wish is the fax number. The telephone number is (530) 622-9313.
I just sent some to Noah's Wish. They have their stuff together.
