CNN's Anderson Cooper Losing It -- LIVE!!!
CNN -- live ^ | September 2, 2005 | self - vanity

Posted on 09/01/2005 4:23:09 PM PDT by Poundstone

Anybody watching Anderson Cooper now? He's losing it publicly, blasting Sen. Landrieu, saying she doesn't understand the pain of the New Orleans survivors. He seems traumatized by having witnessed a couple of dead bodies in the streets. Cooper seems like he's descending into madness.

I was watching MSNBC and they were reporting that babies were dying at the New Orleans Convention Center for lack of water to drink. The reporter claimed that 2 babies died in front of his two eyes.

Either MSNBC is blatantly lying, or the FEMA director needs to get away from the cameras and hand out some water bottles.

I'm reposting this because of your post; I posted this on the live thread:

I stopped posting and just watched the nightly news.

The cables are ONLY concentrating on the bad stuff; mostly in New Orleans.

They like it. They are stirring the pot, playing the race card, and, IMO, inciting this hatred and blame game.

If you watch the regular news, the NG is there, the water and food IS getting there; they ARE moving people out on buses to Houston.

In the outlying areas, help IS there. The people are NOT rioting; the people are NOT standing around waiting for somebody to help them; they are helping each other and working together; they are THANKFUL to be alive and thankful for the help they are getting.

If you watched the nightly news, you would have seen the story about the OTHER people in NO who have stayed in ther homes (or have found other places to stay, even squatting) and who have banded together to await help and rescue; they said that they think they could make it five more days WITH water they are finding. Yes, they are going through other homes for food and water, but they are NOT in the streets; they are living on the roofs of buildings, sleeping inside at night, because THEY are scared of the people in the street.

My point? We're WAY too hung up on the crap CNN, MSNBC, and NBC are feeding us. People in outer areas are COPING, people; they know this was a storm of gigantic proportions.

Now, two other personal opinions of mine (and scream if you want to, I'm beyond caring now)

First, as a prediction: when the buses arrive in Houston, Dallas, wherever, we are going to see the SAME things going on there that we are seeing in NO right now.

And, secondly, I am so furious about the reporters and the ingrates who are screaming on TV and who are driving this HATEFUL "Who is to blame" that I wanted to hire the Goodyear blimp and fly it over New Orleans and scream to them all

WE ARE COMING AS FAST AS WE CAN; WE ARE DOING AS MUCH AS WE CAN DO.

Smith saw a dead body and went postal. Guess what? This is the largest disaster in our history and for a so-called reporter to talk about one dead body for 24 hours verges on criminal. If he can't handle it he should not be there. The same goes for Cooper and all of the other blow dried freaks desperately looking for their Dan Rather moment.

"He has no business in a disaster area if he can't control his emotions."

Guess I missed him crying (?). . .as for being emotional. . .think he balances on the line well, given the circumstances.

Perhaps you would rather watch Greta 'take it on'. . .she could do it, without blinking, for sure.

BTW, you all may have missed the best part of Wolf's show today.

Did you hear him say "They are just too poor and too black?

Its only an act...he saw Shep's report and is trying for is Oscar also.

But of course. Couldn't possibly be that a person from a priviledged background has been shocked by witnesses and smelling 4 days of destruction, hundreds of dead bodies, total loss, families wiped out or separated, looting, raping, utter despair, 100,000 refugees wandering en mass through deep water and down freeways as far as they eye can see, without food and water, and the horrid eyes of the terrified who so far are without hope and who have heard nothing about when or if they will ever get out and could die within days.

Drama queen, my ass.

Rather ironic how some here decry the descent into survivalist ruthlessness in the streets, while descending into flippant judgemental ruthlessness at their keyboard. Lot of a trash floating around these waters since the hurricane, turning the site toxic.

From what I saw on MSNBC, there are a lot of people dying at the New Orleans Convention Center for lack of basic supplies (water, food, and medicine.) The reporter claimed that he saw babies dying of dehydration.

The response is too little and too late. It's a disgrace.

And, just because people in suburban New Orleans are okay... that doesn't excuse the situation in the city.

She thanked President Bush for his efforts and those of GHW Bush and Clinton.

Did you notice how she mentioned "President Clinton and former President Bush"?

Maybe Mary hasn't noticed, but both of them qualify as "former."

"Why does FOX keep him?"

I do not know. They have lots of gals who could do the job just as well and are easier on the eyes.

Actually, I've been fairly impressed with Mary these past few days, in terms of crediting President Bush from Day One.

I get physically sick just watching these videos coming in on the cable channels, cannot begin to imagine actually being there. It's a town I have always loved, with all its warts. Just too sad.

Yeah, that and the lack of sleep etc can make a person "lose it" easy.

I saw Anderson lose it. It looked a little phoney, but maybe not.

The situation is aweful.

"Would you rather have Geraldo down there being overly dramatic and pretending he is underattack or come down with a waterborn disease?"

I am perfectly happy with Shep. . .I think he is doing a great job. As for those who think he is 'too emotional'; I would offer, on their behalf, that Greta do her show from New Orleans.

As for Geraldo; he will get there. ..eventually.

I just about lost it when he lost it. How unprofessional. There were also two other reporters whining and then a black reporter on MSNBC who is in the same state. These are all liberals that have an axe to grind. They also obviously have no clue what it takes to coordinate this massive a response.

Write to CNN and MSNBC who are really crossing the journalistic boundary!

Either MSNBC is blatantly lying, or the FEMA director needs to get away from the cameras and hand out some water bottles.

Why would the FEMA Director lie for attribution? Do you think he's stupid enough to think that his claim can not be checked?

On the other hand NBC has a history of lying when it comes to the Bush family.

So as for me, I'll choose to believe the FEMA director until somebody tells me that he is simply another evil conservative wanting to dehydrate babies and starve old folk to death.

And I'm sick of hearing him talk about how bad the convention center is.

The Convention Center was NEVER designated a shelter -- the people who are there screaming into the TV cameras are the ones who have left the SuperDome because they are refusing to leave New Orleans.

They broke into the Convention Center.
