It was flooded out early in this hurricane, and technicians that were authorized to try to help fix it were turned away by the Louisiana State Patrol. The radios were used the first day on SIMPLEX, but could not be recharged etc. Several police precincts were underwater etc. I am sure some are still in use, but not as a citywide trunking system as designed.
