President Bush: "We are dealing with one of the worst national disasters in our nation's history." Push has appropriated vast federal resources to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
78,000 people are currently in shelters. New Orleans evacuation continues. 10,000 additional National Guard troops have been called to service.
Hospitals are running low on supplies, and public health concerns include water borne disease, poor sanitation, food and drinking water contamination and shortages, mosquitoes, carbon monixide poisoning from electricity generators, lack of childcare, and the special needs of the elderly.

Wasn't/isn't there a big shipyard in Biloxi or Pascagoula? I think it was Ingalls.
I dont get it. This is word for word on what was posted on a thread earlier that was yanked and now its allowed to stay here? A double standard going on or what?
Thanks
Oh Christ....
Jesse Jackson Just showed up In Baton Rouge...
ping
Also, go to your browser and in tools>advanced (in IE) - scroll to "show pictures" and uncheck it.
Do not know about Firefox, since I have no problem in that area.
The "have pity on dial uppers" is tiresome.
Really, why isn't he on the bridge or the convention center?????????????????????????????????????
Great, that'll make it all better/sarc off
What is the over/under on the exact time Jessie plays the Race Card on live TV from BR?
because she is a Dem, and a woman.
As soon as they go talk to the fool. So, I say, exactly 5 seconds from the first question.
Jackson trying to blame Bush for the levy's what a political opportunist.
Within the first 15 seconds of his spiel
I'll take the Larry King Show...
3 Hr, 20 minutes?
I apologize. Just catching up after work and a drive home from the Arlington, VA area.
David Schuster, MSNBC, just reported from Biloxi that he has been told by authorities that there are hundreds of dead that have not been included in the public numbers. The reason they have not been reported is that the coroner's office is overwhelmed.
Word is that Ingalls is largely OK. Some minor damage and flooding, but largely OK.
Just did.........
Telling everyone how great a guy Hugo Chavez is.
Total disgusting.
Yeh, he and the Blanko on WWL-TV. Almost wish I didn't have the link. Time to do something else...
The Energy Bill just signed by President Bush contains half a billion dollars for coastal restoration funds for Louisiana alone. The Army Corps' much maligned levees keep New Orleans safe from spring flooding, and its planned $700 million, 72 mile Morganza-to-the-Gulf of Mexico levee might have held Katrina at bay, were it not at least a decade from completion.
Jesse Jackson is in NO?
