They should give serious consideration to bulldozing the ruins and building up the land level with fill and new silt dredged from the shipping channels etc.

I heard an interesting suggestion. If they have to rebuild the city, which is likely, then take advantage of the fact it's below sea level. Turn it into the American Venice.

I thought of that too.
It certainly looks hopeless as of 5:15 today.
The amazing thing is that if and when all of this is cleaned up, property values will skyrocket and folks will be snapping it up! Seems to have happened after all the storms last year in FL.
