National Conservative Coming Out Day
By Mike Adams
Townhall.com | August 30, 2005

Dear Closet Conservative:

Only you can remember the point in your life when you realized who you really are deep down inside. Perhaps it came suddenly. Maybe you just woke up one morning and began to have troubling thoughts. Maybe you began to realize that you weren’t the same as all the other little boys and girls. You wondered how many others had similar thoughts they just kept to themselves for fear of being ostracized.

Or maybe it was later on in life that your emotional conflict ensued. Perhaps you were sitting in an economics lecture hearing a professor boast of the brilliance of Karl Marx (while not fully appreciating the benefits of deodorant and a daily shower). You might have been in a history class learning about the deeply engrained oppression and racism that pervades American society (from a liberal who sends his kids to private school and lives in an all-white neighborhood).

Regardless of when it happened, you now realize that those Marxist ideas don’t make any sense in the real world that most professors so adamantly avoid. You also realize that you value freedom and liberty over the totalitarianism advocated by your Marxist professors.

In other words, you now realize your true political orientation. You are a conservative.

Your feelings may have been confusing at first. After all, your class readings and textbooks said you were wrong, and, doubtless, your “tolerant” professors still tried to convert you.

But, I am here to assure you that things are different now. Sure, there are still some people who feel threatened by your beliefs. I call them conserve-o-phobes. But now you know that it’s their problem, not yours. You are good enough, you are smart enough, and, dog-gone-it, other conservatives like you just the way you are.

Still, there are other students at your university who share your conservative beliefs, but are too intimidated to say it out loud.

And that is why, on September 21st, I am proud to announce that the Leadership Institute is sponsoring the first National Conservative Coming Out Day. Now, we need your help to let all the other oppressed campus conservatives know that it is time to come out of the closet, too.

If you want to know more, contact the Leadership Institute and have them send you some literature. And if you like what you see, you can contact your school’s Sociology Department, Office of Campus Diversity, and Women’s Center to ask them to co-sponsor your school’s Coming Out Day activities.

With your help, we will begin to create “safe zones” around the nation for all of those who have been politically oppressed. These will be reassuring and comforting places where you can meet with people who will give you the affirmation you need. They will help to soothe your inner child in a way that no liberal ever could. You can even wear that Christian symbol around your neck or openly proclaim a moral absolute without being charged with discriminatory harassment by campus conserve-o-phobes.

It will be hard at first but, please, remember these important words: Marxism is an emotional disorder, not a political philosophy. And political correctness is really the only form of hate speech.

Join with me brothers and sisters as we fight to restore liberty in America on September 21st. God bless you all and God bless America,

Dr. Mike S. Adams

I took it as tongue-in-cheek. But it does seem strange, doesn't it?

I think it's satire for the "national coming out day". If it's not, it still seems a little strange.

This is as funny as an anti-PETA demonstration. I love how they want to get the support of the different liberal groups on campus.

I am going to pass this out to every college kid I know. Unfortunately, I don't know too many.

A favorite line of mine.....especially around work....when someone starts in about, let say, Hillary, Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin......is " Don't get me started....I hate that moron". In my case, I wear it on my sleeve and get in not a little bit of trouble, living here in the socialist republic of Nuevo York.

Come out??? I never went in.

LOL! Mike Adams reports a lot of strange, so I think this is absolutely tongue in cheek.

In Massachusetts, what's effective is to say (when you hear a lot of frothing at the mouth liberal venting) that "all this one-sided one-party statism is getting to be tiresome."

I have been amazed at flaming libs who will calm down at this.

That said, it's more helpful for me to position myself as a small government, big defense survivalist nutcase than the R word, which causes emotions nearing on hate speech in liberals. Oh wait. It's only hate speech if conservatives (though silent) show up.

The mark of good satire is its believability. This must be good, because I'm very confused if it is or is not satire.

It's frightening just how on the mark he is. Ohio State's first day of classes is September 21. I'd like to see how many people actually take him up on this challenge. Guess I'll have to drop by to find out.

Actually, he didn't make it up completely...I think this has become a national thing.

Coming-out day for conservatives 2/4/2004

By Valerie Richardson
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

BOULDER, Colo. — A few years ago, Jeff O'Holleran said he began to realize that he was different from the other boys he knew. "I started having certain thoughts," said Mr. O'Holleran, 19, a student at the University of Colorado (CU). "I would go out into my mom's car, turn it on auxiliary and listen to Rush Limbaugh."
Yesterday, he said, it was time to come out of the closet. In the middle of a crowded university dining area, he took to the podium and announced, "I'm Jeff, and I'm a conservative."
His tongue-in-cheek revelation came during yesterday's "Conservative Coming-Out Day," an event sponsored by the College Republicans that combined a mischievous sense of humor with a serious message on academic bias.
"We have some of the best professors in the world here at CU, but some of them are here to indoctrinate us," said Brad Jones, College Republicans chairman. "What we're talking about is diversity of thought, and a lot of professors don't believe in [that]."
The event kicked off the club's "Conservative Coming Out Month," which will feature conservative speakers and intends to fuel a statewide conservative assault on liberal bias in academia.
Colorado became ground zero for a nationwide debate last summer when conservative writer David Horowitz met with Republican Gov. Bill Owens and other top Republican leaders to promote his Academic Bill of Rights, an eight-point manifesto that seeks to eliminate political bias in university hiring and grading.
Opponents called it an attempt to enact quotas for conservatives, a charge that Mr. Horowitz adamantly denies. The state General Assembly is considering a bill that would prohibit professors from discriminating against students based on their political and religious beliefs.

Love Letter to a young Liberal,

As a new member of the “ right” I feel compelled to convey to you the journey that has brought me to this place. There is a bitter animosity among many liberals today toward those that would believe as I do. As many conservatives will tell you, there is no point in hating liberals. They are as much a part of us as they are a part of the American fabric. It was once said that most conservatives start out as liberals in their youth. So how do we get to the other side of such opposing views?

For this writer, it took many years of seeing the world outside my parent’s protection to arrive at my current beliefs. In my younger years as an American, I believed in the total goodness of mankind. I knew nothing of hate, racism, wars or politics. I was taught at home and in my schools to love everyone regardless of nationality, gender or religion. Those days where full of hope and possibility. I was once certain in my heart that the world we live in is full of people that only want to live and let live. My thoughts were that those who did not take my views need only to be given a touch of that all-powerful love and they would see how things could really be. It was devastating to find out that there where those that truly hated beyond any reasoning and that no amount of kindness or love would dilute their way of thinking.

As if it wasn't enough to learn of real hate and wars, I learned that there are political leaders that use those wars to bring themselves to power. I became keen to maneuver through this political trickery. I learned that the worst politicians where those that preyed on the innocents. They tell opponents of hate what they want to hear, that war is very seldom necessary and blame it on the greed of their political opponent. They defy the facts of struggle after struggle, war after war throughout our human history in order to find favor in the American heart. I learned about those amoral, power hungry brokers that seek to widen the divisions in our country, using well chosen words that “sound” eloquent and intelligent to pit race against race, gender against gender, rich against poor to increase their own support in their quest for power.

My eyes where opened and I knew there must be others that thought as I did. So I sought them out and found that they were called Republicans. I joined the just cause to bring back those things that I valued most, the ideas of my youth, that where taken from me by the real nature of this world. There was still hope.

Then, on September 11th, just when I thought I had seen every species of hate that the world had to offer; I learned of the islamic fascists. Without any room for doubt, they made their goals be known. Their calling in life was to promote their higher power by erasing us from the face of the earth because we are what they call the “infidels”, the ones that dare to tell them that we do not agree with their spiritual beliefs. They teach their children in their so-called schools that we are less than dogs, sub human. Without remorse, they attack the innocents. They applaud the effort to deliberately murder women and children in the most gruesome way possible to further their cause of fear and intolerance.

There is only one party that can help us to survive in this newest world of hate and insanity. It should not be surprising that the US has taken a “hard right” Republican shift and I suspect that the rest of the free world will follow in the next few years as the newest threats gather.

I long for the liberal days of my youth when everything was brightness and light, before I learned about the hate, before that one bright morning when the reality of the madness of the world came crashing in.

Young liberal, I support you in your journey to find the sad truth. The reality is that the world is not what any of us want it to be. Unless those that would kill the liberal-at-heart are removed from power, the world will not ever be what we all want it to be. I am one of those people who will forever dream of peace on earth, but dare to see things for what they are today For you that have not found it acceptable to face these unbearable truths, there will always be those of us on the right who are willing to protect you from the hate and madness of these killers, even if you despise us for doing so.

For those who can see that the dreams of our youth are still so very far away and that more work needs to be done to bring back the hope, won’t you please join us in this fight for our freedom?

Sincerely, Earthdweller

I'd like to see "coming out" day moved to September 24th, when we REALLY do need conservatives to join at the National Mall to counterprotest the filth arriving that day.
