BREAKING!!! - Weldon says records were ordered destroyed!! (Able Danger)
Dom Giordano Show - 1210AM Radio "Big Talker" - Philadelphia | 29 AUG 05 | Vanity

Posted on 08/29/2005 6:23:38 PM PDT by Lancey Howard

Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.

This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.

The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.

Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".

Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.

Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.

Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.

(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)

I have been trying to stay on the military aspect of this as that is the only one from which I can speak with any authority (US Army counterintelligence from 1985 to 1990), and, everything I have said applied to us at the time.

In your quote regarding Mrs. Lawton, they are very specific in refering to "the DOJ’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies". Furthermore, the CIA and the FBI have been traditionally "kept apart" from the beginning.

Now however, in light of what you said, it becomes clearer to me that "Gorelick's Wall" (I just like the ring of that!!) was more a restriction on the DoJ than on the other agenices, in effect, making the restrictions that had long applied to other agencies "internal" (which makes the whole thing even MORE dirty than it already was!!)

Why did the 9/11 Commission go hack only to 1998? This same bunch of Islamonazis tried to blow up the towers in 1993. What to the hell kind of sense does that make? Such arbitrary assignments have pretextual messages. What is the message?

I was curious about the Kerrick memo...look what I found:

Clarke was nervous about such a mission because he continued to fear that Bin Ladin might leave for someplace less accessible. He wrote Deputy National Security Advisor Donald Kerrick that one reliable source reported Bin Ladin's having met with Iraqi officials, who "may have offered him asylum." Other intelligence sources said that some Taliban leaders, though not Mullah Omar, had urged Bin Ladin to go to Iraq. If Bin Ladin actually moved to Iraq, wrote Clarke, his network would be at Saddam Hussein's service, and it would be "virtually impossible" to find him. Better to get Bin Ladin in Afghanistan, Clarke declared.

Hmmm ... Gorelick sent her 1995 "Wall" memo to Richard Scruggs, Chief Counsel, OIPR. The same Richard Scruggs no doubt who took over OIPR from Mary Lawton following her untimely death in 1993, and shortly thereafter created the Wall, if my Post #616 is accurate.

The "Wall" was put in place by Richard Scruggs, working for Reno, in 1993 (early in Clinton's term).

Reno hadn't been in the administration long before the horror of Waco - something that would wed her to the ready excuse of a VRWC. It wasn't her acts that caused children to be burned to death, it was, it was, why it was the vast right wing conspiracy. IMHO she was played from the moment she took the job. And as you mention, played well. Much of the wall problem was in place as expat says -- but parts were added for advantage.

"janet reno...the most inexperienced, unethical human being EVER to hold the post of AG."

I share your loathing for Reno, but let's remember that Ramsey Clark (far-left America-hating loon) was AG under Lyndon Johnson. I don't know if he managed to do as much damage as Reno (probably not in office, but he sure has tried to make up for it since!), but he has to be one of the worst, most unethical lunatics ever to hold ANY high office in US government.

I agree that a healthy skepticism is prudent. However, Weldon has been around for a long, long time and has significant connections within the military establishment and in the Pentagon. Remember, Weldon almost single-handedly kept the Osprey program alive back in the '80s and '90s (the heli-plane which was being manufactured in his district).

I am pretty sure that Weldon has his back covered, and I do not believe that somebody like Weldon would allow himself to get sucked into a Republican version of the "Downing Street Memo" hoax.

During the same interview that is the subject of the original post, Weldon made it clear that all he is doing at this point is bringing up indisputable facts and asking WHY these facts were never investigated by the 9-11 Commission. Weldon is a careful and patient man. The snowball is gaining speed and picking up volume even now.

Regards,
LH

It implies that Clinton was very concerned about something, probably something to do with "Chinagate" and campaign funds from illegal foreign sources. Remember, the reason that Clinton had Gorelick and Scruggs erect "the wall" in the first place was to stymie investigations into his own illegal dealings. The byproduct of Clinton's self-preservation tactics was that the left hand knew about lead hijacker Atta but the right hand did not - - because the left hand was prohibited (by "the wall") from telling the right hand.

Hope this helps.

Biography of Curt Weldon

Congressman Curt Weldon represents the Seventh Congressional District of Pennsylvania. Currently serving his tenth term, Congressman Weldon is the most senior Republican in the Pennsylvania Delegation. A Member of the House of Representatives since 1987, Weldon has taken leadership roles on a wide variety of issues, ranging from national security to the environment.

A senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, Weldon served six years as the Chairman of the Military Research and Development Subcommittee, overseeing the development and testing of key military systems, weapons programs, and technologies that fulfill military needs. Weldon has used that position to become the leading House supporter of a national missile defense to protect America's families and communities. Weldon now serves as the Vice Chairman of the full Committee as well as Chairman of the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee. His role will ensure that our service men and women are adequately prepared for duty in the high-tech world of the 21st century.

Weldon, a major in Russian Studies, has made improving relations with Russia one of his major efforts in the House. He has worked with Russian leaders on a variety of issues, including efforts to improve Russia's energy supply, correct environmental damage, and protect both nations from ballistic missile attack. Weldon is the co-founder of the Duma-Congress Study Group, the official parliamentary exchange between the two legislative bodies. This bilateral relationship coordinates legislative efforts in the Russian Duma and the Congress to foster a better working relationship between the two nations. Recently, Congressman Weldon created a comprehensive framework designed to improve the state of relations between the two countries. Titled “A New Time, A New Beginning,” his proposal makes recommendations for cooperative efforts in eleven different areas ranging from defense and national security to space exploration and scientific research.

As a member of the Science Committee, Weldon is one of the most outspoken advocates for the environment and protection of our oceans. Weldon's "Oceans Agenda" legislation passed the Congress in 1995, increasing funding for oceanographic research projects. Weldon is a champion of environmental concerns as the only House Republican on the Migratory Bird Conservation Commission which approves funding for our wildlife refuges and wetlands preservation. Congressman Weldon is a member of Global Legislators for a Balanced Environment (GLOBE) where he serves as Honorary Chairman of the Oceans Protection Task Force. Weldon also serves as the honorary United States Vice President on the Advisory Committee on the Protection of the Sea (ACOPS).

Born and raised in a blue-collar family, Weldon understands the issues that affect America's working men and women. In Congress, Weldon has been a tireless advocate of issues important to working class families. He co-authored the Family Medical Leave Act, pushed for the extension of unemployment benefits, has consistently supported raising the minimum wage, opposed the North American Free Trade Agreement and voted for historic across-the-board tax cuts.

Weldon was born in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1947, and is the youngest of nine children. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from West Chester University in 1969.

Prior to becoming a Member of Congress, Weldon worked as an educator at local schools in Delaware County and volunteered as a firefighter in Marcus Hook. As mayor of the Marcus Hook Borough, in which he was nominated twice on both Republican and Democratic ballots, Weldon led the fight to revive the small town that was home to the violent and destructive Pagan motorcycle gang. Utilizing his teaching and public safety skills, Weldon moved on to serve as the Director of Training and Manpower Development for a large corporation.

Prior to the terrorist attacks on America, Congressman Weldon was an outspoken advocate of bolstering defenses, assisting first responders, and improving intelligence gathering capabilities. As Vice Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee and founder of the Homeland Security Caucus, Congressman Weldon is a frequent keynote speaker at various defense and national security conferences across the country. He is a regular guest on national news and television programs, is the author of letters and opinion papers for various news sources, and teaches advanced courses at local colleges and universities.

Married in 1975, Weldon resides with his wife Mary Gallagher Weldon and their five children in Thornbury Township, Pennsylvania.

On November 4, 1998, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York unsealed its indictment of Bin Ladin, charging him with conspiracy to attack U.S. defense installations. The indictment also charged that al Qaeda had allied itself with Sudan, Iran, and Hezbollah. The original sealed indictment had added that al Qaeda had “reached an understanding with the government of Iraq that al Qaeda would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al Qaeda would work cooperatively with the Government of Iraq.” This passage led Clarke, who for years had read intelligence reports on Iraqi-Sudanese cooperation on chemical weapons, to speculate to Berger that a large Iraqi presence at chemical facilities in Khartoum was “probably a direct result of the Iraq–Al Qida agreement.” Clarke added that VX precursor traces found near al Shifa were the “exact formula used by Iraq.” This language about al Qaeda’s “understanding” with Iraq had been dropped, however, when a superseding indictment was filed in November 1998.[...]
