Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.
This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.
The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.
Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".
Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.
Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.
Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.
(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)
Both were trying to unearth deeply buried traitors against a media hostility.

I sure hope that Mr.Weldon and his witness, will be placed under special protection, until we get the facts on Sep the 8th.
It looks like we have a potential scandal on our hands.
Yeah, but he had the courage to drop the bomb(s) on Japan which saved millions of GIs that would have died if the US had to invade Japan. [Unlike Clinton who launched a Cruise Missile at an aspirin factory and figured he had done his part in the war on terrorism.]

Whichever date it is, I hope he gives it before Cindy baby gets to DC as that's all the MSM is going to cover. Speaking of which, I wonder if Bagdad Cindy has had to change her travel route since Katrina has hit and will continue up the east coast.

I hope Mr. Weldon DOES NOT SHARE everything with Arlen, and lands his surprise on the floor of the senate investigation.

In this day and age, information travels at the speed of FREEP.
One cannot announce that they have big news and then just put it off for a week.
Too much time for the other side to work the opposite spin.
Why give them any advantage?
That, in a nutshell, is my point.

I'm skeptical as hell where this story is concerned ... not because I don't believe it has merit, because I've been down this path before and seen at least a half dozen Clintonista gates come to nothing. Washington politics has a way of protecting it's own. If the Able Danger scandal has a chance of breaking thru liberal media inertia it needs to come out close to the anniversary of 9-11 ... not now, when it can easily be blown off as insignificant.
I think we've got multiple villains here. It's not just the 9-11 Commission who buried Able Danger. The Pentagon evidently wanted it buried before 9-ll. As far as we know, the Pentagon remained silent when the 9-ll Commission kept it out of their report. And even more telling, the Pentagon has done everything it could during the last few weeks to discredit Weldon and the whistleblowers who've come forward to back him up.
Maybe Weldon is a bulldog. Maybe he does have a special, trusting relationship with Arlen Spector that will guarantee Spector conducting a legitimate investigation.
I can't say I'm optimistic. While Weldon cautions the Pentagon not to release anymore premature statements, he goes on local Pennsylvania radio shows doing just that. Maybe he has to, in order to keep Able Danger interest alive, but it just doesn't feel right to me.
