There have been an awful lot of reports like that on FR, especially in the weeks after 9/11, when the Red Cross was caught diverting funds raised "for 9/11" to all sorts of other projects. That scandal was serious enough that then ARC President Bernadine Healy was forced to resign under the heat of Congressional investigations.

I fear the worst for Bay St. Louis and Pass Christian. There has been absolutely no reports of any type from that area. Not citizen or officials.I have a fondness for that area. One of the races I ran in the Gulf Coast Running Club in the 80s was the "Pass to the Bay" and did 6.4 miles, a bit over 10K between the towns. I am picturing a bridge that could have been taken out or damaged by the storm. I speak now from a safe distance inside the DC Beltway.

Round one of our tornado scare is over. Safe and sound in Alpharetta, Georgia. Even the cats decided to come home for this one.
Judging by the map I think we will be in the basement a few more times tonight.
Thanks for the concern!

Maybe the continued media nightmare scenarios in the past that didn't come to fruition helped people become lax.

huge trees are down in the park (I mean huge) but the statue of Jesus in the park is untouched - the trees feel all around it. - amazing! That's the St. Louis (the king, not the city) Cathedral of New Orleans.
