Is everyone tired of hearing about the stupid dome in New Orleans?
Would be nice if the media would get off their fixation with New Orleans. Hundreds of other communities have been hit as well.

No. I am not tired. If I were, I would not read posts about it.

Would be nice if the media would get off their fixation with New Orleans. You've got a point, but New Orleans did look like the major story yesterday and they naturally fixated on it. And they're stuck there until the interstate highways re-open.
Right now, I imagine most of the media wishes it was down at Grand Isle or over in Biloxi, but they can't get there.

The media can only report from where they are. Most bunkered down in New Orleans because that's where they thought the storm was going to wreak its worst havoc. They stayed in the French Quarter because that's where the hotels are and it's one of the higher (i.e. safer) points in the city.
As the weather gets better and they get out and about the New Orleans metropolitan area and beyond, they will report from there.
My guess is Slidell was hit pretty hard, but isn't completely submerged. The land there slopes up from the lake, not down, according to Google Earth.

Part of the problem is being able to get to those hardest hit areas. We will see more of the Dome or NO area because those are accessable at the moment.
