"The Superdome won't see sustained winds higher than 120 mph...'"
I wonder if the ability to generate more detailed weather models is also allowing for the "documentation " of higher and higher instananeous speeds that are not necessarily real.
Is there any real evidence of any of the observation posts , buoys etc measuring anything near 150 mph ?
The on ly thing that I have seen jump that high is the price of oil.
Harrigan just got blown two feet...screaming "oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo".
Great links! Thanks!
the southwest quadrant of the storm is losing strength.
That was in Baton Rouge - nursing home bus trapped in traffic for hours with 3 dead on board....
He just about went down there. Yikes
Perfect analogy.
Live report from Homeland Security, reported via NBC in Jackson. Said they were down, too much water.
Me a PETA Troll?
You must never have read any of my post before...
I meant TEN feet.
Steve is going to go over the rainbow, if he doesn't seek shelter.
You're unlikely to see an actual surface measurement of Cat 4 strength winds anywhere from this storm.
Pascougla, Miss reports gusts of 113 MPH.

Constructive conversation apparently is not something you wish to engage in.
Steve said they just locked the hotel - he needs to go inside - his heroics are serving no purpose
I can imagine. He's leaning into the wind, almost went down. The hotel/building? is locking them out now. They said better get out of there and he says you take care of your end, I will take care of my end!! Way to go Harrigan.
I don't even think NO will get that, the southwestern side of the storm is weakening.
