Nonsense. The damage from increasing winds in exponential. There is absolutely no way a storm is as deadly 80 miles inland as down on the coast, the winds just don't sustain that far inland. Were this hurricane to run the most direct route to BR, the damage would pale in comparison to what NO is going to get. But again, massive deaths in hurricanes come from drowning, not winds. Take it up with the NHC and the history books.

By the time Camille reached Jackson the sustained winds were 75mph. It was downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reached Tennessee.
