thank you for this thread. my bro and sis-in-love have a home there (at least through tomorrow...). they have evacuated to monroe, about 300 miles north so should be safe from the actual storm, but who knows what they will return to. he has the right focus, though, the onlky thing that matters is eternity, but it is still hard to realize that you may lose all you own.
Dear Father, i ask a hedge of protection for the people in the path of katrina. i ask that, if it be your will, that the storm would turn and go back out to sea. barring that, i ask that there be minimal loss of life, and that you would grant peace and courage to all who are there. bless those in the coast guard who are working to safely evacuate and house those who are stranded. i ask for your grace and mercy. in Jesus's name i ask these things, amen.

Beloved Father, we ask that you would protect all of those who are in harms way from this hurricane. There are so many who are poor and don't have transportation to get out of New Orleans. Please deliver them from death and injury. Be Merciful Dear Lord.
At times like this, we take comfort in knowing that you are our anchor in the storm. No matter what happens, there is nothing that we can't handle as long as our trust and faith remains in you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen!

Prayers that Katrina will just go away because I don't want to wish it on anyone else either. However, if it doesn't we ask prayers for those who will be in the direct path. I also pray they get all those people standing in line into the Super Dome!!!

Thank you, Paula. In talking to my bro this afternoon, I learned that his philosophy of life has changed drastically (not a bad thing) and he is thankful that he was able to get his wife and pets, and a few important things out of the house. I did tell him it makes me grateful that I live in the middle of the California desert and the worst thing we have are the occasional earthquakes. I will take that over a hurricane any day!

Dear heavenly Father, Praying in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ along with all my brothers and sisters in the Lord I ask you Oh Lord to have thy perfect will carried out at this time. I would ask Oh Lord that you might cause that Hurricane to dissipate or just turn back towards the sea. Lord please protect all the people in and around New Orleans and all the little animals and birds too. Nothing is too great nor too small for you to do. You are with all your creation Lord. I pray that you have mercy on us and on follow citizens in Louisiana. Mercy Oh Lord in Jesus Name. May your most perfect will be done even now. And Lord please also protect the people that have remained to help those who could not get out. Also all the news people who are there reporting on what is happening protect them too Oh Lord. PLEASE Father protect, protect, and protect these thy people and all of your creation. Thank you Father in Jesus Name. AMEN.
