I homeschooled, so I was never faced with an issue of screenings or sex ed in a public school setting.

But my sister sent her kids to public school for awhile and she was always having to "opt out" her young children from the sex-ed classes (don't know if there were other screenings.)

My question to Chelsea's mom would be, if some parents knew enough to send in the opt-out form, how come she didn't know there was such a thing as an opt-out form?

If you choose to send your kids to public school, then you'd pretty darn well stay on top of what's going on in that school and what is in the curriculum.

Take heart! It can work out. My wife teaches in the public school system where we live. It is a mission field for her. There may be more people of faith in your public school than you might think. And, of course, he has you- the most important teacher of all.

They copied this little scheme from the old Soviet Union just like they did our new "Real ID" internal passport system. Using mental health to control citizens is not new.

Eating homemade meatloaf OK. If you order meatloaf in a restaurant, that is over the edge. Way too many things can be hidden in meatloaf.

I like a meatloaf smoked on the grill. Carb watchers can replace the bread crumbs with mushrooms and/or eggplant run through a food processor.

The PPRA allows parents to inspect their children’s instructional materials and requires that schools obtain “written parental consent” before schools engage in such programs as mental health screening.

So why isn't this incident treated as a blatant violation of that rule?

My son has been begging us for the last few years to do this.

We felt comfortable with the decision because we know he will be with his friends from a local church and other friends also enrolling this year from an indepenent Christian school and also from a Catholic school.

I post messages to a conservative discussion website, attend church regularly, and like leftover meatloaf sandwiches. I wonder which disorders I have?

That bears repeating. Even if you believe you live in a conservative school district as I do. Empty your kids' backpacks if necessary to make certain you are on top of what your school is doing. Go to the school board meetings just to let them know you are there and taking note. My "conservative" school district is now calling the Christmas holidays "Winter Holidays". However, they are still calling Easter "Easter". I fear that by next year - it will be called something else. I will be at my next school board meeting to find out where this originated.

Right there I knew something was wrong.

Believe me, you don't want the government getting involved in your mental health.

They will destroy you if you fall afoul of them. I've seen it happen too many times - the state has a different perspective of what is good and bad for children than what you and I might have.

For instance:

Daycare - good

Home all day with mom - bad.

Homeschooling - VERY suspect.

Divorce - not so bad, if it gives child other opportunities.

Exposure to homosexual lifestyles- nothing wrong with it.

Medicating kids - excellent.

Long Term Marraige - VERY dangerous. Needs special watching. You see, it makes people less likely to divorce, and sometimes divorce is for the good of the children, especially if the family has a problem they are seeking help for. (As told by a CPS worker to a friend of mine)

I could go on and on. And everything I have listed here so far, I've seen. In real life.

The mental health worker explained that the test results indicated Chelsea had OCD because she responded that she liked to help clean the house and social anxiety disorder because she responded that she didn’t party much.

OCD because she liked cleaning house? That would make Dufarge crazier than a $h!thouse rat!
