I love cliché arguments, they convince how smart you are and I must give up immediately. So you win, I lose, and as long as I love you we will get along just fine.LOL Ain't dat da troot!

The thing is ? Robertson was talking about the US ability with covert operations to do that, and Robertson was not invoking the name of the God of Israel to do this, he was just talking about the US's capacity to do this.
Basically, he probably was saying out loud what our leaders in Washington were already thinking, and reflection what most Americans are thinking about Chavez , but won't admit it.
If anything, lose lips sink ships, and if the US had any plans to deal with Chavez, now, after since Robertson said those comment, now, the Pentagon or the C.I.A either will have to abandon any plans to deal with Chavez, or come up with new plans to deal with him later.

Yes, he was. He didn't get bowled over like a lot of the folks on here did. But it has given them a wonderful opportunity to do their favorite thing, which is to liken Christians to Islamofascists.

Rationalizing the call of murder by a religious leader just because he's your guy is still a call for murder.

Yes, that message is something that Louis Farrakhan has been preaching to his people for years.

Christianity (from the eyes of Pat) = kill those who disagree with US interests?

I still see absolutely no difference between Robertson and his comments and an inman's with his. Both use religion for their own perverted disgusting ends of violence and death.OK, when Chavez has his head sawed off with a knife for the whole world to see by lunatic Christians who say they did it because Pat Robertson told them to, THEN I'll grant you your point.
Otherwise, drop the childish equivalency routine.

The ban on political assassinations is in the form of an executive order (originally signed by Ford, and later reaffirmed by Carter and Reagan), it has never been a Congressionally mandated law. Bush could end it with a stroke of a pen and he would never even have to announce it publicly.
We have launched attacks that could have killed many foreign leaders (Saddam, Kaddafi, Milosevic and others), nobody has ever complained about those. Robertson offered an opinion about ending the regime of a maniacal dictator, the left is upset because Chavez is one of their new "pets," just like Ho Chi Minh, Castro, Ortega and Gueverra have been and/or still are.

I've never much cared for Robertson either... or any Televangelist for that matter. I'm a fairly religious person but I keep it to myself and never claim to know more than the next person or claim to be right and someone else wrong.
I always thought there was something untoward about him, but I didn't know about any suspicious dealings... I guess sometimes the gut feeling is the right one.

On this issue, I agree with Pat Robertson because he makes complete sense. Religion has nothing to do with it. Besides, I usually support an American point of view, before a foreign point of view. Hugo Chavez is definitely not on my list of people who I'm willing to defend. Under any set of circumstances. Know what I mean? LOL

Thanks for posting this.
In context though, how many lives would have been saved had Hitler been killed or Pol Pot or Stalin.

Very well put!!!!! Some on this thread just do not get it.
You can check my post for the last 3 or 4 months, saying that Chavez needed to go, and Venezuela was a boiling point for Islam.

Glad to see Rush not giving the MSM their evening soundbite. As always, Rush is right. I wonder who was the network that called him 3 times. Probably CNN.

You're right. It's not a law, but rather an executive order. Thanks for correcting the record.
I think we are in general agreement on the Robertson remarks. I've only been defending him for ths last 18 hours.

Pat Robertson is not a religious leader. He is a Christian tv news talk show host and a businessman.

Not only does America and the Bush administration want to kill Chaves, but it was also reported by FreeRepublic that Rush Limbaugh is advocating the assination of Cuba's elected president, Fidel Castro.Did you ever wonder why even liberal presidents like Carter and Clinton never normalized relations with Cuba in all these years?
It's not because of the Cuban-American voters.
Castro had JFK assassinated.............and it's been kept secret ever since.
If the American people had been told the truth from day 1, they would have demanded retribution against Cuba.......but the Soviet presence kept Castro safe.
Now the truth still can't be released because it would reveal the secret-keepers of the past to be exactly what they were........appeasing cowards.
That has always been my opinion.
