Actually, West New York is in New Jersey, west of New York (clever, isn't it?)
I used to live there. Rather dumpy place.

Experienced FReepers can smell a serious thread. It was obvious from the get-go this was no 9/11. But if you enjoy your high-horse, keep riding.

This is a manhole cover not the twin towers. While jokes may be inappropriate they don't cause harm or make the accident worse, they are simply jokes. Another big difference between this incident and 9/11 is that it happened in SF, which a lot of people simply do not like and they forget other people live there. I do not think making jokes does any damage or makes things better, they are just jokes.
I thought the Dems had a lock on being offended, but I guess we have our share too. If the jokes offend you maybe you should not be on this thread.

Blown manhole cover in San Francisco.
That's one man who won't be standing up anytime soon.

"Was it a manhole?" To be politically correct and non-gender specific, it is a 'human resources hole.' They wanted to call them 'person holes,' but someone in gummint didn't think the label was long enough.

Show the same map and include the BART line that runs nearby. Was the explosion underground?

ABC Radio news is reporting an explosion in front of a Ralph Lauren store. One lady was reported to have been burned.

Actually it is the most pathetic in a while. Before anyone knew how severe the explosion was or wasn't, before anyone knew if people were killed or injured, they were rushing to pop off jokes, lacking any self-control, who are lucky that it wasn't worse lest they be immortalized as immature total a-holes. I agree. It's being reported from several news agency's at least one woman was transported to a burn center in San Francisco.
I see nothing funny here.

May your car break down in the middle of the San Francisco Gay Pride Fair.

At first I thought it was NYC. Then after I posted it and saw the West part I figured maybe they meant Rochester or Buffalo. I guess I was still wrong.

Can we not use the words Big Bang and San Fransisco in the same story please?

May I be the first on the thread to offer the customary FR prayers for Ralph Lauren (if that's his real name) and his family (if any)?

The Bart station is across the street, right?

Not sure where the station is... but the line certainly runs right there below ground.
To: Reeses
A propos, one of my friends got burned once buying something or other from a Ralph Lauren store. There was nothing funny about that either!
