I've at least heard of Christine Lahti, although I never watched Chicago Hope.

Never heard of Viggo M.

The Left continues to use the Vietnam playbook. American soldiers are victims not heroes. The problem for the Left is that we have an all-volunteer force. It is no wonder that so many of them are calling for the draft. You can't have victims who are complicit in their own fate.

Never heard of Viggo M.

He played Aragorn, one of the main characters in all three of the Lord of the Rings movies.

That section struck me, too. But then I thought, "Hey, these are the same people who want to absolve murderers of their responsibility for their crimes (because of their age, their envoronment, their poverty, ad nauseum)." So obviously it is not to much of a strech to discount the conscious decisions of an adult to join the military, and make them "victims of society," too. I mean, if we actually had to face the consequences of our own decisions, liberals might have to, too...

Thanks. Saw the first one, never saw the other two.

Casey Sheehan was an adult and lived and died for his country by SIGNING UP for duty in our military. That's the act of a responsible adult. In contrast, his mother Cindy and the Left kooks are acting like children with their "gimme" atttitude. Gimme this and gimme that and if we don't get our way, we'll blame President Bush. The Democratic Party and the fringe that's taken it over insist its too costly to do the right thing and that deferred gratification and its long term benefits of enhanced safety for Americans are not worth the price of a single soldier fighting abroad. One shudders to imagine what would have happened in World War II had those types been around. In dancing on the corpse of a patriot, as Mark Steyn said, Jihad Cindy and her fellow travellers have provided the perfect visual metaphor of the state of the Left and the modern Democratic Party. In its essence, the argument can be distilled down to this: "We're all better off dead than alive, as there's nothing for which to live." Crude and revealing in how the Democrats have nothing inspiring to say that uplifts the rest of the country. If past is prologue to present, I hazard a guess that as in the last few elections, the Democrats will run next year again on nothing and have the stuffing beaten out of them. And as usual, odds are better than even they will, like the Bourbons, learn nothing from the experience. The occurence of tragedy in life as a transformational event does not seem to have an ameliorative effect on the Jihad Cindys and the kooks of the world.

Mrs Sheehan wants a second meeting with Bush because she no longer feels the way she did at the first one. Instead of gratitude for ‘the gift the President gave us’, she now says her son was ‘murdered by the Bush crime family'.

Since Cindy has become the loudest voice in the Democratic Party -considering she's a proud Democrat, although, as she puts it “more liberal” and “more radicalized,” and considering the Democrats are behind her- in a way she's doing us a service, because it'll show the rest of the country just how crazy the Democratic Party is.

The kooks are now the mainstream of the Democratic Party and Jihad Cindy is their most visible expression. All we have to do is watch these people hang themselves with their own rope.

The lights are on, but nobody's home. You can look in his eyes and straight out his ears, 'cause there's nothing in between.

Thanks, Pokey! I saw this up earlier, but it was partial and didn't make much sense.

Whenever I’m on a radio show these days, someone calls in and demands to know whether my children are in Iraq. Well, not right now. They range in age from five to nine, and though that’s plenty old enough to sign up for the jihad and toddle into an Israeli pizza parlour wearing a suicide-bomb, in most advanced societies’ armed forces they prefer to use grown-ups.

My pick for the great line!

This article is art, as always!

You know what I would love to see? Our President walk out to crackpot woman with a whole bunch of Gold Star Mothers.

He wouldn't have to say a word.

Thank you for this ping.

The Sheehan insanity will fade from 24/7 coverage, but the ripples of her contingent's Bush hatred will remain for a very long while.

Because of her other parents and families are going to express their private grief in public to defend the sacrifices of their sons and daughters. Sacrifices the left cannot understand, because as Steyn indicates, they are incapable and their own childish behaviors prove his point.

This is the bitter end of the bitter sixties counter revolution and the old bitter hippies cannot understand that they and their opinions are not relevant in a post 9/11 world.

At least radical bait such as hers draws out the wing nuts en masse for all to identify.

Yes, much as the Islamofascists are drawn to Iraq like flies to flypaper.

The wing nuts in Crawford probably have poorer hygiene, though.
