Let me see if I can get this straight. The fedguv takes my money away at the point of a gun (if necessary), then sends it to my state and local governments, who then have an incentive to interfere with my right to travel, and then sniff around to find an excuse to confiscate my vehicle and other property.
Incidentally, it was the same mechanism that was used to mandate seat belts, .08 BAC for proof of intoxication, etc.
Whatever happened to Republicans being the party of small, limited federal government?
This time it really is Bush's Fault!
"Whatever happened to Republicans being the party of small, limited federal government?"
Surely you jest.
I thought non-profits weren't supposed to "lobby".
Do not think for a moment that they intend to stop at 0.08; they will chip away, 0.075... 0.07, etc until you basically can't drive after any number of drinks, no matter how acceptable your condition.
Where does it say you have a right to drive drunk?
confiscation of automobiles for resale? now this has gone way too far! Travel documents in hand....... the Gestapo says these papers are NOT in order.
Surely this will get a court challenge...... but considering the courts allowing eminent domain confiscation I fear private property in America is going the way of the DoDo bird.
Well, getting rid of drunken truckers is a fine objective. We will quickly, however, get a racial profiling complaint as Mexican trucks are stopped, trucks too dangerous to driven on US roads, or uninsured or carrying cargos of Fox's drugs or loads of illegal aliens, including muslim terrorists.
Ping.
This is good news if it holds up.

This kind on nonsense is what floats their boats in DC. It's obviously more important to them than stopping illegal immigration...
Which reminds me when mayor Jerry Brown set up some DUI road blocks in Oakland California but was pressured to stop them because too many illegal aliens were getting their automobiles confiscated

Many of us here are asking ourselves that same question. It's all about power, money and greed.
This is one of the factors that caused me to to go up to the library and start looking into the topics of rights and public property in the first place. There were a couple of other events as well. There is a lot of reading, and it isn't at all like studying math and physics like I have been doing all my life. It is necessary to read back, back, back in philosophy, which is something I never intended to do. I even have Aristotle's and Plato's works on the state on my bookshelf. What a mess!
This question gos out to everyone on freerepublic that voted republican in the last election hopeing to shrink the size and scope of the government.Do you still feel like your vote wasnt wasted?I'm not ever going to throw my vote away in anymore elections I will vote straight libertarian ticket from now on.
That ended when they embraced the federal War On Drugs.
