As soon as I posted it occurred to me you may mean people on active duty, in uniform. If so you need to understand that there are severe restrictions on what one can do while in uniform, I suspect this would be a bad idea for them.
Since this will be better organized, see if we can have some kind of Support the Troops drive. A collection. To show action is being done. Maybe a collection point for care packages, prepaid phone cards, etc.
