Globally, there is no comparison. But locally, at least at the outset, in the litoral waters of the China Sea and over Taiwan, there could be a hotly contested fight in the next 5-10 years.

What do you think of the speculation that Taiwan will use the 2008 Olympics as an opportunity to declare independence...

or the speculation that the Chinese will act pre-emptively on the presumption that they will?
