Bravo for posting this article and I'm thankful to hear that at least SOME paper is acknowledging VJ day.

I think that Rhode Island is one of the few states that celebrate the Day with parades and memorial picnics, much protest from the PC crowd.

People need to remember what we were up against at the time and the sacrifices our men made, not just how the war was ended by dropping the bomb.

This is shown in the movie The Great Raid. The critics hated it, I loved it. Saw it on Friday and it showed what real bastards the Japanese were. War is a brutal, cruel thing - and the U.S. gave much better than it got.

All the pitiful savages in this world who think they are tough and mean would do well to remember that fact.

The Great Raid is a _must_ see.
