A Shot in the Arm for Protesters (Must Read Quotes From Code Pink - Free Republic Mentioned)

"We've had slogans like, 'No Blood for Oil,' and 'Bring the Troops Home Now,' but this is a real flesh-and-blood story," said Jodie Evans, a co-founder of Code Pink: Women for Peace, which has led many of the anti-war movement's guerrilla tactics and organized meetings of Iraqi and American citizens. "What works is that it is focused. It is one person's loss versus another person who caused that loss.

"Geez, she's a mom who's lost a child," said Evans, who teared up at Camp Casey this week as she recalled her own 2-year-old daughter dying 20 years ago. "Who can argue with that?"

The practical political question is whether the momentum gathering behind Sheehan will translate into political power in Washington. Members of Congress are circulating a letter asking Bush to meet with Sheehan, a request Sen. George Allen, R-Va., echoed in a CNN interview. But that effort won't go far unless more Americans -- particularly conservatives and those on the fence -- take up Sheehan's rallying call, "Meet with Cindy."

As Sheehan's notoriety has grown, scrutiny of her has ballooned. On Saturday, the Heart of Texas Chapter of Free Republic, a conservative organization, held a rally to support the troops and president in Crawford, at around the same time that a Sheehan support rally was scheduled. But postings on its Web site said, "This rally is NOT about Cindy Sheehan. Do not bring any signs that mention her at all."

This is a long article and worth the click to read in full. The left and their media allies smell a chance to humiliate America and President Bush. No matter the cost to Americans, Iraqis and the free world. For them, they choose the terrorists over us.

Saw your name mentioned in an AP article yesterday. Thanks for all of the work you do!

Now, do you think the media could focus on JUST ONE mom who supports what her son/daughter died for? We know that there are plenty who do.

Commie media.

Please tell me that Senator George Allen is not saying that President Bush should meet with 'Mother Sheehan'.

Forget it. No way Bush should honor that demand. It will just give the nutcases a platform to stand around and scream their idiotic anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

Richard Nixon met with protestors at the Lincoln Memorial in 1970. But he didn't do it after they demanded it--he just went out in the middle of the night, with security, and talked to them. They were so caught off-guard they couldn't turn it into a rant-fest, instead they had to engage in actual dialogue.

I'm disappointed to hear that.

AGAIN?

My tagline reflects Cindy's reaction to her first meeting with the President.

We all know full well that the left, no matter how well we are doing, how bad we may be doing(according to them) will always find a way to promote the worst of any situation than find any good. It's an absolute given.

This is a complete non-sequitir. The author is trying to create meaning where there is none. He mentions Freep right after 'scrutiny', but with a sentence that disavows any scrutiny. Or he's accusing Freepers of being disingenuous and holding an anti-Sheehan rally and lying about it.

Typical media doubletalk.

Please tell me that Senator George Allen is not saying that President Bush should meet with 'Mother Sheehan'.

That is taken out of context

After being asked by Wolf Blizter .. Allen agreed that it would be good for the President to meet with Cindy to have a heart to heart talk WITH NO MEDIA AND NO CAMERAS

This was also said BEFORE the news of Cindy already having a meeting with the President came out on Drudge

No way Bush should honor that demand.

Please do not forget, he met with her once. The response should be:

"The President has already given his condolences in his first meeting with Mrs. Sheehan. Does she have any new information, since her previous meeting with the President?"

"They choose the terrorists over the U.S."

Anything to win in '06 and take the WH in '08. These commies and anarchists don't care about America other than to spit on her.

One day, they are going to choose vilence as a way of getting what they want.

Not saying I would welcome the fight, but we have the NRA for a reason.

If she aligns herself with the Michael Moores of the world and others who see a Republican conspiracy around every corner, then she won't get too far (among conservatives)."

Too late, she has already aligned herself with every crackpot out there

From www.cnn.com:
...Sheehan elicited sympathy from both sides of the political spectrum on Sunday.

"What you're seeing with that mom trying to meet with President Bush is echoes of Vietnam," said Sen. Barbara Boxer, a California Democrat. "Because no one is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel."

"I think the president ought to meet with this mother," said Sen. George Allen, a Virginia Republican. "What I would say to her is her son will always be remembered as a great hero and a patriot, advanced freedom in Iraq and the Middle East, has made this country more secure."

I saw the interview last Sunday with Sen. Allen on CNN where he was asked about Cindy Sheehan's demand to meet President Bush. He knew nothing about her other than that she was the mother of an American soldier killed in action.

His was a natural reaction presumptive upon not knowing Mrs. Sheehan's motives. I'm sure that if he knew that she had already met with the president and was telling bald faced lies about that meeting and was working with groups that are allied with the terrorists he would say differently.

So this useful idiot, Evans had a 2 year-old daughter who was killed in Iraq 20 years ago? And it's President Bush's fault? What?

I quite agree that in this case they have chosen the terrorists/resistance/insurgency over us, their neighbors.

However, {and I know that you know this, kristinn} it is at once as simple as that, and not so simple. Your own repeated confrontations with the Pinkos across from W.R.A.M.C. demonstrate every bit as grapically as do Cindy Sheehan's plaintive, incessant, stubborn whinings - there is a more insidious agenda being laboured upon.

No it is not only "the terrorists", et al. It is "anybody and everybody" OTHER THAN the United States at all times and in all places.

If there be any good in this country or in its people, you would never know it listening to these nattering nabobs of negativity, AKA the "Hate America First, Hate America Always" crowd.

Theirs is a cup of misery shared equally. They steadfastly resist acknowledging American achievement, American Greatness, and the inspiration and impetus that America and her goodhearted, hardworking folk provide to those in the world who seek the freedom which their minds may not know, and their eyes may not yet see - but their hearts most assuredly can enunciate with crystalline clarity in the quiet darkness of their cruelest repression.

For the sake of Freedom we must not cease or desist, we must not allow their ilk to win the day. We must expose their unending stream of lies, mischaracterisations, half-truths and distortions to the bright daylight of unswerving honesty.

Their affiliations and associations, their arguments, bogus statistics, and fallacious contentions, every aspect of who they are and what they do must be thoroughly researched, traced, analysed and evaluated, debunked reasonably and rationally.

Their sources of funding must be investigated, publicised and any/all connections to known terrorist/communist/socialist/anti-American organisations must be publicized, and their motive questioned and eventually utterly discredited.

We must become knowledgeable, for the more knowledgeable we are, the less their chances of succeeding by deceit or stealth.

Above all, we must cling fervently to our moral principles, for it is those which bind us more strongly than any other single factor. They are our anchor, our fundament, and our rock in stormtides!

Thanks kristinn, for your ongoing contributions to a well met battle!

Blessings

A.A.C.
