The old hypocrite is no better at raising kids than he was as president.

"I was a stupid young adult and voted for him in '76. . . and '80!"

I voted for the fool in in 76, but after the Iranian fiasco, I despised the man. I voted for the Republican in the race in 1980, Reagan, and I have never voted for another Democrat since.

Call Senator Chambliss......he may reach an "accomodation" with the law-breaker.

He's willing to do that with illegal aliens who are here for the right reasons.

We all remember Amy Carter because she wasn't born until 1967. The other Carter children were born *much* earlier:

John William (Jack) Carter, born July 3, 1947

James Earl (Chip) Carter III, born April 12, 1950

Donnel Jeffrey (Jeff) Carter, born August 18, 1952

Amy Lynn Carter, born October 19, 1967

By the time ol' Jimmy & Rose got into the White House the other children were adults. Except Amy, our nuclear weapon's expert.

Make that "the 10-year old nuclear weapons expert."

"This will probably get as much attention as Al Gore's sons arrest. Imagine if this was a Bush." The fact that it has to be dug up and posted here is proof of that.

I thought Amy (sp) was the only child of the Carters.

No, they have (I think) three sons as well. They were all pretty much adults when he was elected, so they didn't get as much coverage.

Now that ain't quite fair. Amy supposedly identified nuclear war as an "important issue." She didn't furnish more input than that. It was an attempt to make Jimmuh look like he was addressing a matter so important even kids thought about it. Very Democrat.

But, suppose it came out, even as only a rumor, that W was talking about any number of issues after conversations with Barbara and Jenna. Just imagine the reaction...in fact, remember the reaction when it was revealed that Nancy Reagan allegedly consulted with fortune-tellers? And yet, Jimmuh brings up nukes after conversations with his pre-teen daughter, and somehow he is taken seriously, just like Hillary was taken seriously after saying she had talked to Eleanor Roosevelt's spirit?

It wouldn't work for a Republican. They are expected to be serious.

The Amy thing did have a certain down hominess about it. Amy was a picture of America, at least the ones who never had much money to worry about losing to hyperflation in the first place. If Jimmuh hadn't been such an absolutely incompetent lout, the gambit could have helped his appeal in the face of Reagan. As it was, 49 of 50 states said to Jimmuh "we've had enough."

But Jimmuh at least didn't manage to lose in all 50 states, unlike his running mate, Walter Mondale.

Thanks for posting that, you answered my question from another thread on this arrest story.

So, the only reason we all knew about Amy was that she was the youngest and still living with them. I'm really impressed with these other childrens ability to stay out of the limelight. They should give lessons to Paris Hilton, et al.

I can't wait to ask hubby if he knows Carter had more than one kid.
