Clinton Camp Denies Planting Pirro Mob-Tie Reports

Aug 12, 2005 4:12 pm US/Eastern (AP) A top aide to potential Republican challenger Jeanine Pirro accused Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's camp on Friday of being the source of reports the Westchester County district attorney had taken campaign donations from firms with alleged ties to mobsters.
That charge was called "baseless'' by both a top Clinton aide and by state Democratic Chairman Herman Farrell.
The exchange came in the wake of a report Thursday on the weekly New York Observer's political Web site, The Politicker, and a more detailed story in the New York Daily News' Friday editions about donations to Pirro's campaign committee.
"It's clear the Clintons and their attack dogs and their surrogates are already stooping to throwing mud, which is not much of a shock,'' said Pirro strategist and campaign spokesman Michael McKeon. "They are very much afraid of Jeanine.''
McKeon conceded he had no direct knowledge that the Clinton camp was promoting the stories, but added ``one plus one equals two. Jeanine declares, this comes out, equals the Clinton attack team. It's simple arithmetic.''
"While Republicans make baseless charges, play politics, and run against each other in their primary, Hillary Clinton is spending her day working hard as senator for the people of New York,'' said Howard Wolfson, a top Clinton adviser.
"Mr. McKeon should worry about the Republican primary before making baseless charges,'' added Farrell.

Actually, the Clinton camp might have to be a bit careful in this regard, especially if the Pirro family has "business associates" -- that most likely would have sources that could provide information about the Clintoni mob, that would just simply put them out of commission for good...a fun thought to ponder.

This Wolfson guy is a broken record, he's been using this exact same generic phrase since year 2000 anytime Hillary has been challenged on any issue.

Saying something is "baseless" is the equivalent of saying "there is no evidence of that," another Clintonesque claim of mock innoncence.
Notice that they do not actually say the didn't do it, simply "you can't prove it." Usually followed by the "XXX is working hard for the {insert children, American people, the unfortunate etc.)."
Plausible deniability, just in case someone turns into a stool pigeon.

Just like in her famous "Right-Wing-Consioracy" interview, when she called the claims of Bill having a sexual liaison with Monica a ridiculous conspiracy theory. She didn't know then about the blue dress and thought it was her word against those of the evil forces working against them, which caused her to back off on her statement in that interview that it would be serious if true. Suddenly porking young women in the oval office was just a "private matter".
"Not one shred of evidence" equals We shredded all the evidence". Or, "No controlling legal authority" equals "We got away with it when no one was looking".
ROTFL. Anyone that can say that over and over and over with a straight face is earning his paycheck. I smell less manure over at the stable (where the occupants are higher on the evolutionary scale than these "people").
