DC has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US and the highest crime rate, and the liberal elite blames neighboring Virginia, with less strict gun laws and a much lower crime rate.

I blame it on the hockey lockout. Without that avenue of escape, those hosers have a ton of pent-up aggression. Good news though, with the resumption of hockey this fall, the Molson's will flow, the incidents of armed aggression will fall, and our mealy-mouthed neighbors to the north can return to their socialist, pacifist ways.
Odd. Gun violence is up in Great Britian and Australia as well. Are US guns to blame there as well, or perhaps can we blame the policy of disarming law abiding citizens?
