"I am a little leery of any mother who continues to refer to her 24-year-old son as a "baby..."

And don't forget her use of the nauseating expression "man-child" which was used once effectively in the title of the book (Manchild in the Promised Land,by I forget who) and like Gilette Razors is absolutely not to be used again, to borrow a phrase from e.e. cummings.

I wonder how her other three children feel about being virtually abandoned by their mother while she's off on her vendetta vacation to "avenge" the death of her favorite first-born.

I wonder how old the other three children are? I am surprised there is no mention of them elsewhere. If they supported her, the media would play it up. Yet they aren't mentioned in the family's letter to Drudge-- that was from (I think) godmother, grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Has anyone seen any statements from Casey's siblings? Or his father? I am curious about this omission.

My sons are in their forties and I sometimes call them 'baby.' It's a mom thing. The author of Manchild in the Promised Land spoke at our school once. Our program brought him here. I can't recall his name but I can see his face. Nice guy.
