That's a lot riding on a stealth candidate. We've ignored warning signs reported by people like Joseph Farah because we're convinced he's the best we can get in a Justice. If the President had nominated someone with a lengthy paper trail - true, he might have been "borked" by the Left but at least we would know how much support there is for putting a committed conservative activist on the bench. We don't need to preserve liberal precedents; we need people who can roll them back. But that's asking too much for these charged times.

Do you or do you not agree with Farah that the right wing Senators should join with Boxer/Kennedy/Leahy et al in a filibuster against Roberts? That is the bottom line issue at this point. Sure, the true blues would have preferred Luttig (probably conformable), or Jones (dicey), but Bush chose someone else. He got elected, and you didn't. And I suspect Bush knows more about Roberts than we do.
