Iran dissident Ganji still on hunger strike
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Dissident Iranian journalist Akbar Ganji is still on hunger strike, a hospital official was quoted as saying on Wednesday, contradicting an official from the conservative judiciary who said he was eating again.
Judiciary spokesman Jamal Karimirad said on Tuesday Ganji had ended his eight-week hunger strike after calls from his family and friends, who were concerned that he could die.
But Sirus Tabesh, head of public relations at Tehran's Milad hospital, said this was incorrect.
"Ganji is not consuming any food," he told the Sharq daily newspaper. "Ganji's condition would become critical if his situation goes on as it is now."
The 46-year-old former Revolutionary Guard turned reformist was imprisoned in 2001 after writing a string of stories linking officials to the murder of political dissidents.
He began his hunger strike in June to pressure the judiciary to grant him an unconditional release. He was moved to Tehran's Milad hospital and is kept under guard. Last month his health seriously deteriorated.
Sharq newspaper also quoted Shahaboddin Sadr, the head of Iran's coroner's office, saying Ganji's health was now stable.
Ganji's plight has provoked comments of outrage and concern from the United States, the European Union and numerous human rights groups.
A relative said Ganji's family was not immediately able to confirm whether he had broken his hunger strike or not as they had been denied access to him since Aug 1.
Ganji's wife was quoted by the ISNA students news agency saying her husband receives serums whenever his condition becomes critical.
She said he was being given intravenous drips but on Friday developed a blood clot in his left arm.

http://www.iranian.ws/iran_news/publish/article_8804.shtml DISCOVERY LANDED: KHAMENIE IS THE DAJJAL AND AHMADI-NEJAD IS HIS DONKEY! Aug 10, 2005
Homa Mohaseb - Persian Journal
"Partow", a journal published in Qom, recently reported that a university student voted for Ahmadi-Nejad in the presidential election in Iran because he thought and discovered that Ahmadi-Nejad was highly qualified for the position as a person who would bring enough oppression to the society which encourage the absent-Imam Mahdi, Emam Zaman, to re-appear!
What are really the conditions by which Mahdi will feel free to come back! Let us review some available historical documents: [The Mahdi or Mehdi, in Islamic eschatology, is a messianic deliverer who will fill the Earth with justice and equity, restore true religion, and usher in a short golden age lasting seven, eight, or nine years before the end of the world. The Koran (Islamic sacred scriptures) does not mention him, and almost no reliable Hadith (saying attributed to the Prophet Muhammad) is available to refer to Mahdi. Most Shi'a are Twelvers; they recognize twelve imams, of whom the twelfth, the Mahdi, has been occluded, or removed from human view, and will return at some time in the future. On the Day of Judgment, all dead from throughout history will be brought forth to life again, and judged for either Hell, or Heaven. Prior to this, the Mahdi, along with Jesus, will return to the world in order to restore justice. Mahdi will not defeat the false Messiah or anti-christ, known as the Dajjal (liar); that will be done by Jesus. Once the Dajjal is defeated, Jesus and the Mahdi will live on Earth for many years. In a hadith widely used in Shiite traditions , Muhammad said: "Even if the entire duration of the world's existence has already been exhausted and only one day is left before Day of Judgment, God will surely send a man from my family who will fill this world with such justice and fairness, just as it initially was filled with oppression" In Iranian tradition, when the world is filled with oppression, it is the Donkey of Dajjal, which appears first. The Daljjal and his Donkey make all conditions satisfactory for the returning of Mahdi. Sources: Encyclopedia Britannica, Wikipedia, and Various Documents].
Mullah Khamenie, who lies, lies, and lies must be the Dajjal and Ahmadi-Nejad who greatly complies with the command of his boss must be the Dajjal's Donkey. The student in Qom seems to be right who voted for Ahmadi-Nejad!
