And if they ask if we are there to protest her we can say, "who?". Yes, that would get some hackles up. We can show them how irrelevant they are.
Come on Freepers, let's show our troops some support!
Shhhhhh. You're not suppose to know that part. It makes Bush appear too compassionate. You're suppose to think he ignored this lady and "Feeeeeeeel the hate!"
The only place I've heard about her is here. It doesn't seem like she's gathering that much attention across the country at all. If I were not a FReeper, I wouldn't have the faintest idea who you were talking about. Cindy who???
It looks like she has a small cult of followers , but people don't seem to care much about her.
Are you kidding? They're just getting warmed up. The articles are coming out every day.
I'm in NY. Is this Cindy cult thing a Crawford issue? The news isn't talking about it here, or I missed the 2 minute report.
I don't think this is a big deal at all for most people. Cindy who???
Yes, it is. Our troops need us. They need to know we're supporting them 100%.
This Cindy person is trying to make this war all about HER.
The TV and radio news show I've seen and heard almost all originate from NY. :-) They're talking about her at length.
No.
People like her must be opposed. Publically.
Yep. She's followed the left, and soon she'll be supporting those who killed her son. Ironic.
You nailed it, FRiend. 'Pod.
Really? I'm upstate, and haven't heard a thing, but we're in a conservative area. I suppose the little blue speckles would be playing it 24/7.
That's odd. There's nothing about her around here. No great loss, of course.
Yeah. Lucky you. :-)
basil,
IMHO, FReepers don't need a radio station to hold a rally.
I agree with TXBubba that the rally should proceed, but with NO MENTION of Cindy Sheehan, or at least as little mention of her as possible. The FReeper organizers should make it clear that the rally should be pro-troops, pro-liberation of Iraq & Afghanistan, and, incidentally, pro-Bush.
It should be pro-Bush only in that President Bush is commander-in-chief such that supporting the troops means supporting their commander as the commander, but there should be no signs about supporting Bush's Supreme Court nominee, Bolton at the UN, or other issues not directly relevant to his role as commander of our military.
If press asks about Cindy Sheehan, the answer for FReepers at the rally is not to trash her. Instead, the answer is "Her son and the other fallen U.S. troops are heroes who died for a noble cause, the liberation of Iraq. We're sorry that she doesn't see it that way. She has a right to her opinion, especially considering what she's been through. We just disagree with her, especially after 8 million Iraqis stood up to the terroists by voting at great risk to themselves." Or something along those lines.
Hope that FReepers in the area can hold a good rally. Bring charcoal grills and have a cookout, ala a tail-gate party.
If I were in Texas I'd be there, too.
Good luck, Freepers!
Don't let the DUmmies win!
Just direct the media to read the press release from the rest of her family, a release which endorses our troops and the commander-in-chief and essentially disowns Ms. Sheehan.
LOL. Really. There's TV (I choose FOX), Hannity, Rush, O'Reilly, other similar radio programs .... The radio stations in Upstate refer to themselves as "To the right of the right".
There's no Cindy cult here at all.
Well..there is good news. The left wing kooks outside the ranch are getting eaten by fire ants. LOL. Karma!
Grieving mother??? Yeah, right. I would use a different word to describe a woman willing to use her dead son's memory to advance her political agenda.
People have to see this situation in context. Leave her be, and the story becomes an occassional mention on Olberman.
Show up, and it becomes "War-loving bullies show up and call the mother of a dead soldier traitor," and believe me, we will be hearing about this FOREVER.
FReepers should of course do as they like. But their good intentions will have no impact on what the MSM do with their actions.
