The U.S. federal budget deficit shrank to $52.8 billion in July from $69 billion a year ago I wonder if this includes the new highway bill, or if that'll show up later.

Must be a cumulative total . . . but that doesn't really smell right either. I'm stumped? Does anyone have the source for this?

Look at post #11. The article says the deficit JUST FOR JULY was 53 bil, down from a year ago. The total deficit so far this year, the article says, is over 300 billion. And yes, ever since GOPers started chugging Kool Aid, they'll celebrate just about anything.

When you're heading for a cliff, it's not "negativity" to recommend a course correction. It's just plain sense. Moony optimism may make you feel good, but it's just emotionalism.

BULLETIN >> U.S. FEDERAL DEFICIT SHRINKS TO $53 BLN IN JULYSo if this happened after all these tax cuts, this has got to mean that spending was cut.
Am I missing anything?

No one cares anymore. We're completely off the tracks and no one cares. Just beat the other side. That's all that matters. Ra ra, sis boom bah.
