WASHINGTON The following is a letter sent from RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman to Mr. Brian Lunde and Mr. Mark Hearne of the American Center for Voting Rights in response to their report on voter fraud entitled: Vote Fraud, Intimidation & Suppression In The 2004 Presidential Election.

Dear Mr. Lunde and Mr. Hearne:
Thank you for sending me a copy of your report Vote Fraud, Intimidation & Suppression In The 2004 Presidential Election. I received and examined the report last week, and I agree with you that it is vitally important that our election system be free from fraud and intimidation. When the American people walk into voting booths, they deserve to be confident in the integrity of the system.
As your report documents, this is unfortunately not always the case. And while I believe that the instances of fraud you have revealed are the exception, not the rule, that does not mean that we should accept them and we will not.
I strongly support your proposal of a zero-tolerance policy toward election fraud and intimidation, and I would encourage Chairman Dean and the Democrat Party to do the same. The position of the Republican National Committee is simple: we will not tolerate fraud; we will not tolerate intimidation; we will not tolerate suppression. No employee, associate, or any person representing the Republican Party who engages in these kinds of acts will remain in that position. Republicans do not need to resort to fraud and intimidation to win, and no Republican who does deserves victory.
Last week marked the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Voting Rights Act. That landmark legislation made a statement of principle: the right to vote belongs to all of us, and no one has the right to take it away or dilute it by intimidation, fraud or suppression. The Republican Party will not rest until this principle is upheld.
Sincerely,
Ken Mehlman
Chairman, Republican National Committee
Sad, isn't it. Sounds a lot like Philadelphia.
But, at least this sort of crap by the democRATS is getting exposed and reported.
It is documented in the ACVR report.
Really interesting, isn't it??
ESPECIALLY the charges brought against MoveOn.org!!
SPREAD THE WORD!!
What is it that you expected Mehlman to say??
His letter is to the people at AVCR, NOT an open letter to the American people.
The f&b O'Reilly believes both parties engage in fraud and proudly proclaims it every chance that he gets. Someone ought to hold his feet to the fire and make him produce documentation for one substantiated instance of voter fraud on the part of Republicans. Hell, the Dems own voter fraud, if they didn't they wouldn't control the big cities to the extent that they do.
"letter is to the people at AVCR, not an open letter to the American people."
In today's media environment, it's all the same thing, "W."
Notice ... we, the American public, are reading Mehlman's letter "to AVCR" on the Internet and commenting on it.
"What is is that you expected Mehlman to say?"
That the Republicans will go after the Rats.
If you actually read the ACVR report, you'd see that the democRATS ARE in a heap of trouble because of their shenanigans in the last election. The Republicans DID go after them, and will continue to do so........
I sent an email with the site address to some very liberal relatives, I have been discussing politics with since last year. Their response to my suggestions of Democratic voter fraud was "Well... I've heard just as many 'stories' about the Republicans..." and "All sides cheat and lie, blah, blah, blah." So, at the end of my last email, I said "If anyone knows of any type of fraud not shown at ACVR, I'd sure love to see it." Still waiting...... I bet they never respond! They ignore half of my mail cause they know they can't debate some points and I'm not hoodwinked like their pals.
Lots of great information in the ACVR report, isn't there???
But, don't hold your breath waiting for your relatives to respond. Some people JUST CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!! :-)
Yep
you got that right!
