Funny, I thought that Algerian terrorist-turned Canadian welfare cheat who planned to blow up LAX was the "new face of Canada".

Same face, different method.

She might as well, for all the good she is going to do.

Considering the present state of the Canadian military, it seems kind of hard to believe that the Canadians took Juno beach during the Normandy invasion.

Considering the present state of the Canadian military, it seems kind of hard to believe that the Canadians took Juno beach during the Normandy invasion.

Canada built a museum there in the last few years, but it is kind of not a D-Day museum but a multi-culti architectural paean to how New Canada is so great and so wonderful and so, most of all, not-the-USA.

Sad, but it seems that Canada fears its own history and can only define itself in terms of the USA.

Earnest young Canadian university students work there for a semester. They must be bilingual, so most of them are Quebecois. It's a strange thing, but the Canadian and US definitions of bilingual are the same: fluency in the minority language with a smattering of knowledge of the majority one.

The French make fun of Quebecois accents, big time.

Simplest solution: expunge Quebec from Confederation.

Want the old Canada back? Well first we'll have to overcome the Canadian urge to assume his fellow citizen is such an irresponsible moron that he needs the nanny/welfare state to take care of him.

This year, the Danes planted their flag on Canadian Hans Island, and Canadian Forces can't even get there to put a flag of their own up, or afford a flag to put there.

FWIW, the Canadian military DID plant the Canadian flag there after the Danes' visit. Mind you, it is meerly an excercise in the libs trying to look tough. Also, the Danes are on their way back to visit it as we speak I believe.

Hands off Hans island, defence minister signals to Denmark

Thanks. I wasn't aware that The Dominion Strikes Back, as it were.

The Defence Minister his ownself, in his own hiking boots. Not sure if that was symbolism or if he was the only one available in Canadian Forces when the mission came up.
