(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
Excellent article!
Ouch! That's gunna leave a mark.
I'm glad to see someone telling it like it is - or was - as the case may be. All the accolades being given to Jennings is a bit over the top - in my opinion.
Debbie, you go girl!
With Rather, Browkaw and Jennings all gone in a relatively short time, the cable news, and especially FOX, ruining the big three's news ratings, now would be the perfect time for them to rethink how they do the news (or maybe even if they should). Doubt that will happen, though.
Finally, someone writing about Jennings the way I remember him. I'm sorry he died, and that he died so horribly, but he was a terrible journalist, I don't care how many others sing his praises.
Way to go!
Jennings, Brokaw and Rather, all gone. They were in on the failed 2000 election coup. There is some justice in the world.
Agreed.
Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, and Twom Bwacawh share a goodly portion of the blame due for the decline of the traditional American culture.
God may forgive Peter Jennings, but I'd like to run his worthless corpse through one of Saddam Hussein's people shredders.
I've retrained myself from writing similarly on his obituary threads.
Everything we complain today about the MSM and the fight on Islamic terrorism was started by Jennings. Look even at his "even handed" comments during the Olympic Massacre of Israeli athletes.
Before CNN and the rest, there was Peter Jennings and his buddy Ted at Nightline.
Wasn't he the guy who said that America had a temper tantrum, explaining the stunning Republican takeover of Congress and the Senate in 1994?
I will forever remember PJ's snide commentary following the 1994 Republican success in capturing the House. PJ spoke dismissively of the "temper-tantrum" he witnessed by the vote tallies.
Petah!!!
I'm pinging you beause I thought you too would appreciate an honest look at his reporting career.
Holy Cow!!! The TRUTH comes. This lady says what I knew, felt, and hated about that bum. I will not miss Jennings. Simply, an enemy of the Republic has died. I feel no remorse at his passing. None.
I like Debbie Schlussel and mostly agree with her. I also didn't care much for "Jihad" Petuh Jennings as a news reader but, let's be Christian about this. The man is dead and has left behind family and friends who are mourning his loss. IMO, we should respect that. Let's not bash someone who won't ever be able to defend himself again.
Whether we liked him or not, another life has ended. As Christians, we should allow him to rest in peace.
Wasn't Jennings the guy who spent a lot of time in Lebanon where the Jihadists were serving him up Palestinian girls to win his allegiance to the cause?
