I first met DeLay before he went to Congress. He has always been a close ally on the Bushes and Karl Rove.

He is co-opting Tancredo and taking over leadership of the Republican House members who followed Tancredo before he self destructed. Tom Delay will deliver the votes to President Bush when the time comes, you can take that to the bank.

Immigration will be a dead issue long before the next elections.

No doubt that's wishful thinking on your part but I'd say you are about 100% wrong on that prediction...

Bush may get his amnesty bill thru Congress but that will only light the fuse...

No way. MS-13 and OTMs will see to that.

Too bad the Mexican gov't isn't helping much to stop the flow.

Excuse me?

By 2008 most estimates say there will be another 7,000,000 illegal aliens in our country.

I'd say by then, there is going to be a whole lot MORE upset, angry American's.

How do you mean? Are you saying that DeLay will have his way and get tough on illegals, or Bush will push through an amnesty type bill with the help of DeLay? I'm really hoping deLay follows through on these promises. I always liked him, but now I have alot more respect for him and I will support him forever if he keeps his promises.

It is my opinion, anyway, that DeLaw is probably speaking for Bush here. I doubt the Pres wants to come out and be this aggressive, so it seems like a good idea to have DeLay do it. Do you agree that for DeLay to come out this strong he probably is representing the White House position?

"Immigration will be a dead issue long before the next elections."

I strongly disagree- it's only going to get bigger. Every time an American realizes for the first time how many Mexican kids he's paying to educate, the issue grows. And there are constantly more Mexicans here so the issue will just get bigger.

Immigration is not the issue, it is ILLEGAL immigration.

Nice try.

LOL! In you dreams, I'm sure.

The problems with The Invading Hordes From the South may very well be the issue the election turns on.

The 'Let's Let the Invaders Overrun the Country' crowd has already recognized that they are losing on this issue.

Do you agree with Majority Leader Delay that the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens should not automatically become U.S. citizens?

Majority Leader Delay supports legislation introduced by Rep. Tom Tancredo that would withhold federal funding from cities like Houston that ignore federal immigration regulations. Do you support that legislation?
