DNC: Bush Should Stop Playing Games with Physical Fitness (It takes a village Alert)
Democratic National Committee ^ | Today | Josh Earnest

Posted on 08/02/2005 9:11:23 AM PDT by rarestia

WASHINGTON, Aug. 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The following is a fact sheet released today by the Democratic National Committee:

The White House this weekend announced that President Bush received good news during his annual physical. Doctors pronounced the President to be in "superior" physical condition, which media reports attributed to his rigorous, six day a week exercise routine. While President Bush has made physical fitness a personal priority, his cuts to education funding have forced schools to roll back physical education classes and his Administration's efforts to undermine Title IX sports programs have threatened thousands of women's college sports programs.

"President Bush's has dropped the ball when it comes to fully funding physical education in public schools and women's athletic programs at the college level," said Democratic National Committee spokesman Josh Earnest. "His personal habits indicate that physical fitness is not just fun and games for him. Don't our kids deserve the same opportunities to be physically fit? President Bush should stop running from his responsibility and make sure that all American children have access to physical fitness programs."

It takes a village of idiots to bash Bush for his health! I was raised by a single mother, I'm obese because I ate too much and didn't get out enough. I'm tired of the Dims thinking that it takes the government to regulate everything I consume. How about having a chat with the parents who let the idiot box babysit their offspring? Computers, video game consoles, high fat/calorie/everything comfort foods... what happened to little league?

...Administration's efforts to undermine Title IX sports programs have threatened thousands of women's college sports programs.

Hasn't the predominant effect of Title IX been to eliminate less popular men's sports programs in order to achieve parity with women who simply have less interest in such things?

Is it possible for a Demonrat to speak without lying?

There were fat kids in school while clinton was president. Carter too.

So if fat kids are caused by what happens in schools, I guess we just have really bad teachers all across the country.

The president's health? That's Bush's fault, too!

The DNC is full of whining maggots. I'll bet most of them couldn't even do one chin-up.

Phew. Feel better now.

Viva Bush!

Uh, yeah, sure. Without federal funding, kids can't go ride their bike or go play in the backyard.

I like that you take personal responsibility for your situation. I can tell you have the desire and ability to make things different now, if you so choose. God bless you and give you the strength to make the best out of any situation you confront.

The DNC should have its own comedy show, I mean they do, they should televise it or something.

Don't tell the Dims about Schwarzenegger.
Their brains will seize up.

Anyway, I'm glad to see the Domestic Enemy Mob
making their usual valuable contribution to the
freedom, prosperity and security of the nation,
not.

What a bunch of pathetic whiners.
Do they suppose that people don't figure this out?

Thank you, dirtboy! You illustrate my point gloriously! It doesn't require you to get a gym membership! There are millions of acres of parkland and recreation areas in this country. Get out from in front of the PC, the Nintendo and get out of bed and off the couch and DO SOMETHING. People want everyone to do everything for them nowadays. The era of personal responsibility is dead.

I'm going outside for a bike ride. I'm all fired up now.

There is no way on the planet that a snotty school child is busier than the President of the United States. Yet, the President manages to exercise and stay in good shape.

I don't understand the position that unless something is done in school, it won't get done. Get the kids to a gym. Let them play outside. Don't feed them so damn much.

Sheesh.

I am speechless. They are so quick to blame this administration for everything. I guess Parents have no personal responsiblity. Always looking for funding for something.
