I agree, while we are as a nation generous, companionate, reasonable and generally wise, we are also quite capable of unleashing unspeakable horror when the situation calls for it.

What may seem unthinkable to us today may tomorrow seem like a measured and reasonable response to a crisis situation. This is not a country to back into a corner. Even I fear what a frightened and vengeful America could unleash.
