Sharpton, during his remarks at the National Urban League's annual conference in Washington, noted that his fellow Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton, have taken African-American voters for granted and failed to act in the best interests of the black community.

Thanks to both AliVeritas and Tumbleweed_Connection for their original postings on this, Both have seen the significance of the sleazy Rev's move to the Republican side of the chamber.

Al has just sold his lyin' cheatin' and thievin' soul to the Republican party. It's nice to see lowlife politics in action

Al Sharpton is a fraud and a cheat. We know this by his actions. But, he's also a pragmatist. Knowing that his power is based on the number of people he can get to follow him while he plays his flute, he knows he has to be first and he has to make his followers better off. The answer used to be jobs, when the Rooseveltianos ruled, but now the answer is small businesses, thanks to Republicans.

But Al knows there're just as many hand-outs for the beginning entrepreneur as there are for job-hunters, so, let's start there.

Al the Pompadour sees clearly, as we all do, that the trend is away from state control and towards privitization; away from jobs creation and towards small business; away from wimpy foreign policies and back to Manifest Destiny.

He wants to be the first. It's a good sign.

He has the muscle to do this.

So, this is tremendously, overwhelmingly, super-duperifficly significant.

How, you ask?

The Reverend Al, and his pompadour, have made the first step away from the Democratic Party, and in the direction of Bill Cosby and the Republican Party.

The Sleazoid Al, and his pompadour, know that the first black demagogue to fall into the dark side, and embrace the private property ethic, will dominate Afro-centric politics for years to come. AS Charles Barkley famously said: "In the Democratic party,..."

Al has just sold his soul. And the Republicans just bought it. Bloomburgler will be the first to embrace this loathesome little turd - with a pompadour.

The poison pill is that the more black Americans stop looking to government to solve all their problems, and look to themselves to better their situations, the less there will be "Afro-centric" politics.

What the H3ll is this about a Black Community? I thought they wanted to go to school with whites? I thought they wanted equal jobs, equal pay, equal treatment?!! Now, instead of being treated like a 'citizen' (a biblical word) the want to be treated like a Black Community??!! Seems like the South already tried that and the blacks didn't like it.

Re your post #1

Don't hold back buddy, tell us what you really think about Al!

I've never been a fan of Al or Jesse. Seems the only people attempting to cause trouble via race are them and LULAC, LaRaza and the Brown Berets. A pity people actually listen to them, after all, no one listen's to KKK, same thing different shade of skin color. No one cares anymore, just a few jaded individuals trying to cause trouble.

Oh. oh! This'll mean that ole Al not gon-to-be polishing Massa Byrd's shoes no mo'. Ole Al gon-to-be back out in the field in the hot sun doing stoop work like the rest of the field African-Americans and the bad house African-Americans who make the boss democrats mad!

Al is going to have to kiss a whole bunch of dem butt if he wants a spot at the next dem convention. He's just talking nonsense. He'll do what blacks always do, vote democrat. They just don't know any better and better than 90% voting rate proves it. Why would the dems pay any attention when they get an automatic 90%? The dems may be sleazy, scumbag, lying, neocommunist, anti-American crapweasels, but they aren't stupid (at least many of them).
