Amen!
Yes, as an AMERICAN I DO respect other paths to God. I may not necessarily agree with them and don't, but as an American I DO. I have no doubt in my heart that Billy Graham would EVER think "Jesus lied" when He said there is no other way to God.
Rev. Graham: "They may not even know the name of Jesus but they know in their heart that they need something that they don't have and they turn to the only light that they have and I think they are saved and that they are going to be with us in heaven."
Yes, there actually are people in this world today who have never heard anything about God (as we know Him), or Jesus, or the Trinity, etc., but who know something is missing in their lives and who cry out to "God" in their hearts to know "Him", etc. One could make an example of those who might happen to live in the deepest part of some African forest where noone ever goes save for the people who live there, or somewhere else on the planet (we do have a big planet even with the media, internet, etc.) who have no Bibles, no missionaries, no T.V. (thank God for that), no outside interference, but who are aware of that special Person they can't name. Will God judge those people to condemnation even though they do not even know the name of Jesus? No, because He is a just God all the way around. We have a just God, and we also have a realistic God, too. That is a world-apart from those who HAVE heard but who continue to turn their backs on Jesus. Jesus seems to make a lot of people angry for a myriad of reasons.
As far as Schuller's take on Mr. Graham's comments, I think Schuller spins it the way HE wants to believe. I've always thought Schuller to be wishy-washy about actually telling it like it is about Jesus Christ and salvation through Him, etc. Schuller is a good man and knows the Lord. Don't misunderstand, please. But he's always "dumbed it down" and made being a Christian what I call palatable for the masses. He has a nice robe, a pretty glass church, lots of outreach programs, and even Dr. Laura speaks there occasionally. (Maybe Schuller thinks other pastors are more plain-speaking about Christ, so he doesn't have to be and he can give more warm fuzzies. And he would be wrong about that in any case. But I digress.)
I must say I do not understand the Graham comment about "do a little Googleing for yourself." So there you are.
I sure miss Calvin and Hobbs.
Now I am not saying this should be done but, could you imagine balloons filled with milk thrown into the windows of this bus. After three or four days in the heat that bus would be intolerable from the smell........ of the sour milk not the libs.
I had an idea about how to respond to Jane's bus tour. We announce that activists (mainly, freepers) are prepared to ARREST HER FOR TREASON under the Citizen Arrest provisions available in our constitution.
I've heard that there's no statute of limitations on treason. We hand her over to the local authorities, and she becomes one charged with treason against the United States. I can't tell if this idea has already been floated -- I did searches for Jane Fonda, Treason, Citizen Arrest and found no references on Free Republic. I will post this on 2 or 3 Hanoi Jane threads.
Well, I'm not sure how all of that works. I only remember Gomer Pyle doing a citizen's arrest and I think it was on Barney Fife on one of the episodes of Mayberry. :)
Her bus & her brain both "run" on vegetable oil.
