OK, on This Thread, we learned that Food Network parent company Scripps had stopped a planned "Iron Chef" feature with a group of Boy Scouts, because of the Boy Scouts "anti-homosexual" attitudes.
In that thread I posted my remarks that I sent to Food Network, telling them that I would be doing all that I can to organize and participate in a boycott of all things Food Network, Scripps, and ALL their sponsors.
I just received the following e-mail from John F. Lansing, President, Scripps Networks...
"Thank you for taking the time to contact us and to express your concern. The situation involving the Colorado Springs Boy Scout Troop and Food Network's Iron Chef America promotion is an unfortunate misunderstanding on the part of a front-line producer. Food Network has no programming policy that would prohibit inclusion of the Boys Scouts of America in the stories we tell online or on the air. We are in the process of contacting Mr. Maher, Scoutmaster of Troop 99, to let him know that his submission - one of more than 1,500 we have received - has been selected for taping for use on our website and on Food Network. We apologize for this misunderstanding.
Sincerely,
John F. Lansing
President, Scripps Networks "
Thank you thank you thank you!
You are a FReepin' hero! ;-D
I like the Food Network.
YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's better than ANYTHING by the Marxist-Stream Pressititutes would ever CONTEMPLATE doing!
So, Thank G_d, not only for the Scouts, but now I do not have to boycott such a mainstay of viewing in my house!
Way to go all FReepers who took the time to complain about this issue...the kids will appreciate it!
Please ping me
I'll add your name to the list!

FYI!!!!! Do not be fooled. Food Network is LAYING BLAME on a "front-line producer" who was specifically instructed by management NOT to do the segment! Food Network took a stance and now there trying to save face and put the blame on an expendable producer! It was their decision!! The producer WANTED to do the segment and was genuinely dissapointed that they were INSTRUCTED not to! FN stopped donating money to the Boy Scouts for this reason so why are they afraid to stand by their decision? The only real victim here will be the "front-line producer" who Im sure will be repremanded or perhaps lose their job for only doing what they were told to do.
You demand Tolerance? Well you should also demand truth and responsibilty from Scripps Networks. Do not accept laying blame! And while your at it you should use some your tolerance for the "pro-homosexual crowd" and take note of your own anti-"pro-homosexual crowd" bigotry!
Welcome to FR, troll. Now BACK to DU!
All right!
Chaos in the Kitchen or Don't rub two Scouts together...
To say nothing of Rachel Ray.
Here's another pic for penance.
Well, to quote SNL's "TV Funhouse"...
"It's not about YOU, douchebag!"
See, this is about the KIDS...not the "pro-Homosexual" agenda...
And as for the splinter in my eye...I do have several Gay friends. How's that tree in YOUR eye coming?
"I don't care if you make it with a toxic goat in a vat of battery acid, just don't splash me!"...see Uncle Ted Nugent said it best. This is about KIDS being targeted and PREYED upon!
Oh, and before you get all queer and mighty on me, I was a Boy Scout, and ALMOST was a victim of one of these "alternative lifestyle" perverts...the only reason I was not just another statistic was I chose not to do the photography merit badge, and did electronics first. The photog was also the assistant Scoutmaster, and got to (the number I knew who admitted to it) 20 KIDS! 20 KIDS MOLESTED!
See..it's all about being a target of opportunity...NOT bigotry! But you are too bigoted to see that.
Good luck with that tree in your own eye
i LOVE good eats! AB rocks.
My 6 year old loves GE, Emeril (of course, kids love him!) and Iron Chef America & Japan
Dadgum.
Is that what I have been missing by not watching the Food Network?
