No objections to redesigning the UN as a casino hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. They should call it The Taj Mahell though and import bellydancer waitresses. That should keep Clinton busy and away from global socialist planning boards when he is appointed General Secretary by the reigning cabals.

Just to stay on theme, Bill Moyers should be hired as the official greeter and doorman.

I can't speak as to what's been happening over the last number of years, because it certainly hasn't been good. But the concept of the United Nations, and the fact that the United Nations is in New York, is very important to me, and very important to the world, as far as I am concerned.

Honestly. I am sitting in Brookyln as I type and I cannot stop laughing. This so funny.

Me too.

Personally,I can't wait for their arrival in their new digs.

The United Nations=worst Brooklyn tenant since ACORN.

"If anybody is still wondering how Trump got to where he is, this ought to pretty much explain things. He sounds like that architect character in The Fountainhead."

Best point in the entire piece:

Trump: ...you know, if somebody said, what would be your dream on this site, while my dream is a dream that won't happen, but it's a dream that I might tell you. It's a dream to take the United Nations, and the Senator over here is probably going to go crazy, move it to the World Trade Center as a brand new United Nations. Sell the United Nations site, which is one of the greatest sites in the world, for much more money than the whole thing would cost, and you end up building a free United Nations at the World Trade Center, where I don't think anybody's going to want to stay anyway. I think it's going to be a very, very hard rent up at the World Trade Center.

I always liked Trump. And when somebody says something, after which I don't know whether to laugh or cry---I like him even more.
However. He's being more than a bit disingenuous here. He knows darn well why it's more expensive than it ought to be, and he knows there's worse going on here than incompetence. Particularly at these levels, incompetence doesn't get inside unless it is escorted by Corruption or knows somebody named Influence.
As for the lack of a plan (LOL!) --- they're getting enough money, they'll use some to hire someone to form a committee to authorize someone to arrange a contest to determine a winning plan. (Number of judges, yet to be planned.)
$44M is what it takes to peel that artichoke and get at the tender inner plan. As Trump knows better than most---just as he knows they don't really want to save money, they want to slosh it around.

Of course he knows damn well what's going on. I mean come on, he's in NY NY realestate, he knows the corruption game well. I'm sure he's had to deal with it on many levels, corrupt bldg inspectors, corrupt union thugs, corrupt politico's...

Thanks for the post.

And thanks Mr. Trump.

At least they can't say no one told them.

That UN site is such a great site, I certainly do not blame Mr. Trump for wanting it. Condos there would be first class.

Moving the UN to the top a new WTC is something I heard as a joke.

The fact that Mr. Trump says it could be done peaks my interest, as I detest the plans for the WTC site as they are now.

As one freeper suggested, I would rather they turn the WTC site into a cemetery for the military, then the museum and office building now planned.

'Trump sticks it to the UN' ping.

Now if only there were more people in the government who would be willing to stick it to the UN...
