Actually, I think she did serve as an undercover agent in Europe prior to being moved back to the U.S. in 1994. She has been under very light cover since then, and that is probably only to protect the integrity of her former missions.

Actually, she was undercover in the past, but became worthless as a covert agent when she hooked up with Joe Willy-Lose Lips Wilson. Her boss at the agency at the time said as much.
Rove didn't out her! That tells me that these "intel" officers have an ulterior motive. IMO the CIA has has elements of subversion that threaten the integrity of this country. Democrat agents or worse, maybe the same?
Even if she were undercover, aren't govnernment employees supposed to avoid getting involved in domestic politics? Plame was trying to pull one over on the press by authorizing her husband to go on a foreign trip to dig up anything that could be used as propaganda aganist invading Iraq. She was trying to use her allegeged status as an undercover CIA officer to prevent that act of nepotism in the federal goverment from becoming public.
This story was trash a week ago, when we found out Rove got the info from whats-his-face conservative reporter.
What are you going to do when a REAL CIA covert op gets outed?

Where in the world are you getting your information? I think you need to broaden your sources a bit - not even the most rabid Wilson-hater believes that she was never covert.
