"Ohio, birth state of a certain rumored-to-be-undead me.
*sigh*"

Lived in Ohio very briefly in 1955 - and again from December 1977 to 1978.
The Blizzard of '78 came a week after three other snow storms on the town where I lived -- it was comprised of two fronts that literally converged on my upper level corner bedroom wall at 0100 with 70 mph winds!

The worst of it was *not* the power out for several hours - not the City Law that confined us to our homes for four days so they could clear the mess, emergency vehicles only allowed on the streets...

It was having a 15 year old daughter and a nutso caged husband, restless and fidgeting!
At least daughter cheerfully braved the drifts to get to a little store a block away for bread, canned stuff, etc., and contributed another saving grace -- she'd just learned how to crochet from a neighbor, and showed daddy how to do that!
[He loves to do things with his hands - work with wood, model airplanes, etc.]
Started off Big Time with an afghan, doing a quite creditable job!

From that, he launched into making afghans for all the ladies in the family, and later, our grandchildren.

The one for his mother was beautiful, with soft yellows and white and a cross on the corner...she was bedridden at the time, and always had it beside her for years until she died.

[He was born and reared in Dayton and Centerville - sent to Ohio in '77 to manage a store - and we have *NO* plans to ever, ever return..:))]
