1.3 billion Muslims want to slit our collective throats, and we can't even share opportunity with neighbors who share our values. Our time will come with the will of a vengeful God, you selfish hypocrites.

Get off your high horse. We presently tolerate 20  million illegal aliens and a very lax legal immigration policy. This nation is way too generous as far as allowing people to come here, legal and illegally.

You have  lot of nerve saying we aren't sharing opportunity with these wretched 3rd nations. Most of them failed nations of Spanish-Indian heritage. We are picking up the pieces for Spain's failed experiments in the New World

I respect your adamancy sir regarding private property ownership in that the money the illegal alien earned you feel was his private property and deservedly should have been returned to him.

But on whose "property" was that money earned?

And where is the recipricocity in all of this?

If Americans were allowed to make money in Mexico and bring it back home with them to the United States, things might be different.

Chavez, 66, has lived in the United States off and on since 1970, when he crossed the Rio Grande River in search of work. He came to North Carolina seven years ago and got a job with a private construction company after doing farm work and construction in California, Texas, Florida and Kentucky. Chavez never earned more than $7.25 an hour but was able to save, thanks to his thriftiness and stamina for long work weeks.

He's getting too old to put together another $30,000. Hopefully he won't come back but will retire in Mexico. This guy put in a lot of back breaking work. I would never deny him the money he squirreled away. To me his case for justice is a lot stronger that all these young illegal aliens who want instate tuitions for college and who are near impossible to deport.

Bottom line is I respect his years of hard labor. At age 66 you cannot deny him the fruits of his labor

Can I also keep my earnings in a jar and forget about the IRS?

From Irs.gov:

The law does require you to file a tax return if your income is above a certain level. Check the instructions for Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ (under "filing requirements") for specific details that may affect your need to file a tax return with IRS this year.

Here are some general guidelines for anyone under age 65. Remember, these guidelines may change based on your particular situation. In general, once you have the following gross income amounts, the law requires you to file a federal tax return with the IRS:

Single — $7,950

Head of Household — $10,250

Married Filing Jointly — $15,900

Married Filing Separately — $3,100

Qualifying Widower (with dependent child) — $12,800

I thought so. At least you are honest about it.

You thought what? Honest about what? That I know people who hire illegals? That I disapprove of working people under the table? You obviously think you found something that establishes a moral high ground for yourself in the post, but I can't figure out what I admitted to that allows you to preen.

And you believe I am in the minority on this then?

I don't know. I don't determine my moral commitments from the polls.

================================

And I respect your opinion, sir. Thank you for expressing it.

Senor Chavez would have never had to come here and break our immigration laws if he lived in a nation that was not run by drug cartels and elitists who control over 90% of the wealth by less than 10% of the population.

If I formed my moral opinion from polls, I would be a democrat, wouldn't I?

Reminds me of graffiti I saw in the bathroom when in college, which read EAT SH!T !!! 800,000,000 FLIES CAN'T BE WRONG !!!" Yeah. take a poll to find out what is right.

Besides, the poll is so stupidly generic as to be meaningless. You would have me disagreeing with me if you registered my vote on this thing.
