Need more proof that the wolves nipping at Karl Rove's heels are ba sically out- for-blood Democrats? Joseph Wilson, the widely discredited, Bush-bashing former CIA consultant whose wife was "outed" as an agency employee, yesterday demanded that Rove's security clearance immediately be lifted.
And he did so standing shoulder-to-shoulder with New York's senior senator, Chuck Schumer — head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, whose chief responsibility is to elect more Democrats to the Senate.
And the DSCC's Web site is flogging an online petition demanding that the White House "stop the Karl Rove coverup" — and, by the way, soliciting: "Help to build the critical financial resources so we can help our candidates and achieve a Democratic Senate majority."
What's ironic about this sudden sense of moral outrage is that congressional Democrats — including then-Rep. Chuck Schumer — fought hard back in 1982 to defeat the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, which was enacted at President Ronald Reagan's insistence after rogue CIA agent Philip Agee publicly named covert agents and agency sources abroad.
Sen. Joe Biden — who now is demanding Rove's removal over a "national security breach" — warned back then that the bill would "harm, not help, our national security." And The New York Times demanded that the courts "wipe the law from the books."
Now, hoping to score a major hit on the president, they're singing an entirely different tune. Hypocrisy as usual. One question, though: How does Schumer keep a straight face?

This once again shows how Demagogue-crats will walk over any previously held position in order to attack Bush, that's how pathologically partisan they've become. Other examples include at the outset of the Afghan war, Democrats and their media allies saying to wage a "credible" war on terror, Bush would have to go after other "terrorist-supporting states LIKE IRAQ." I remember that specific quote out of the smarmy mouth of Tom Daschle. These Demonization-crats only did this because they thought Bush too gutless a leader to do anything beyond Afghanistan and wanted to make him look bad when he stopped there. But Bush called their bluff and waged a comprehensive war on terror. So once again they reversed themselves to attack him on that too.
This has just gotten comical. These Democrats are like something out of a Monty Python sketch. I've never seen a political party as craven as this bunch of looney tunes.
I called Schieter's office yesterday and, as a New Yorker and constituent of senator Scheister, DEMANDED to know why he was not this outspoken when a national security felony was committed by Sandy Berger...the response, we will pass your concerns on to the senator...I also asked why senator schiester has such an interest on outing CIA employees today when he was one of 56 congressmen/women who voted against legislation making it a crime to reveal certain types of CIA agents in 1982...the response...we don't know why he voted against the bill in 1982.
I encourage everyone to pick up the phone and do the same...
I agree. I hope they keep throwing Schumer out there as their front man. He is the classic image of an untrustworthy person -- beady, shifty eyes, perpetual five-o'clock shadow. He is the very image of dishonesty. Thank you Dimmercratic Party!
I lived in his district for a time. His campaign was to go to senior centers and VA hospitals and say "Vote for me or they'll take your social security!"
The backfire on this has started. The dems called for a lynching before the trial. This is fine for the far left but not for people concerned about fair play.

I'm actually very happy to see the Demo-schmucks sliming all over the place. I firmly believe the gig is up for the Demoschmuck party. They have lost, are losing even worse now and basically are embarassing themselves at every turn and don't seem to know it. I think it's comical.
However, Hillary does scare me. There are plenty and I mean plenty of women in this country that will vote for her simply because she is a woman. That's just as bad and stupid us me voting for someone just because he is a guy. Given that line of thinking we could vote Hitler in as President of the United States and not even know it.
And while you are at it, ask Senator Schumer to also demand the resignation of the person who revealed to the public the name of Fulton Armstrong, another CIA agent, recently..
It happnened on the floor of the Senate, - the culprit was John Kerry.
That won't happen because the Republicans are holding themselves to higher standards. Honestly I wish the Republican party would turn into a bunch of pit bulls and attack them at every corner. This pansy approach is not doing that much to help the Republicans.
Sorry to be so late in responding, but I wanted to thank you, Mike, for a great comment. You're right. This current crop of DNC "leaders" are making a$$s of themselves. We can only hope that the returns in 2006 will reflect the public's agreement with what you've stated so well.

I find this to be a problem also. It is frustrating. I keep feeling that if ONCE .......just once, Bush, Rove, Cheney and Mehlman would come out swinging and denounce the hypocrisy and well-funded lying campaign of this crop of Democrat clowns, our party would gain enormous stature!
Today on his show, Rush played the audio of Bush's White House ceremony when the Clintons' "official portraits" were unveiled. It kinda made me ill, hearing the undeserved graciousness and complimentary nature of the president's remarks to both of these shysters, who never should have set foot into our White House at any time, for any reason!
Perhaps Bush's own inner concept of what it means to reflect deeply held Christian precepts is what dictates his genteel attitudes towards what can only be described as sworn enemies!

When you next see a microphone that you can't resist running to, I will look forward to hearing your APOLOGY to Karl Rove for your unfounded and unsubstantiable allegations that you very publicly made against him only yesterday.
As you are so interested in maintaining the cover of CIA operatives I am sure you will join with me in demanding the resignation of the gentleman who outed Fulton Armstrong, a CIA Operative, in Senate testimony recently.
Mr Armstrong was being referred to as "Mr Smith" until the person who, to use your words, obviously cannot be trusted with the nation's secrets" named him in public.
Surely you will agree, given your stance on Karl Rove, that the leaker, Senator Kerry, MUST resign.

Putzhead has Clinton on his face now. And then he voted against more border guards. Hahahah! The man is vulnerable! We can take him down, so long as we get a true conservative to run against him who doesn't have a scandal-ridden husband.

Rush pointed out yesterday that Schumer now has to call for the clearance of the Misty Three to be cancelled, along with Dusty Harry Reid, Senator Depends, Leaky Leahy, and other rats.

There is a reeally great British series on politics called "Yes, Minister" and later "Yes, Prime Minister" which is problbly the best examination of how elective government and the civil service fight against each other.
One of the funniest (if somewhat painful to watch) series' I have ever seen.
