Suspicion on another thread about the same subject is she is the key to this and the real culprit in this mystery told her and she told Rove who when Novak and Cooper called him had already heard it.... one supposition is she actually heard it from "Wilson." Probably far-fetched, but boy would that explain a lot.

This is lighthearted for this late hour, but doesn't this remind you of when we played "telephone operator" as kids? By the time the message got to the end of the group it was completely different from the original.

In the game no one knew if someone did not hear the message correctly or if someone had deliberately altered the message. Well, this is operator on a grander scale and with graver consequences.
