Speaking of flooding, Houston is experiencing some significant flash flooding as we speak. Pearland, where I live, is getting really heavy rain now too, and my yard already has lots of standing water.

Nope, don't need any hurricane next week.

Re will houston be effected, hard to tell at this point. So times, hurricanes just keep going west and plow into Mexico, Emily might just do that, it is not unheard of, but it is not that common, in order for that to happen the storm has to be under the influence of a huge high for weeks at a time, the high has to grow or move almost with the huricane, now it appears that is exactly what is happening wioth Emily, but if anything changes, and the weather around (galveston) here sure is changing lately then Emily will move north. I'd say it 50/50 for a upper Texas hit. But as other have noted it all depend on the High above Emily, if that holds for 4 or 5 or 6 more days, Emily goes to Mexico
