Islamophobia blamed for attack

A Muslim man has been beaten to death outside a corner shop by a gang of youths who shouted anti-Islamic abuse at him, the Guardian has learned.

Kamal Raza Butt, 48, from Pakistan, was visiting Britain to see friends and family. On Sunday afternoon he went to a shop in Nottingham to buy cigarettes and was first called "Taliban" by the youths and then set upon.

Nottinghamshire police described the incident as racially aggravated, not as Islamophobic, angering Muslim groups and surprising some senior officers.

They say it was not connected to a backlash against Muslims following the London bombings, which has seen mosques firebombed and Muslims attacked in the street.

Mosques firebombed? Not hearing that here.

Its the guardian you can't expect any facts or logic.

Since the soviet union fell apart they have been very very sad. Its probably similar to the after election depression the rats are still going through..

"Nottinghamshire police described the incident as racially aggravated, not as Islamophobic, angering Muslim groups and surprising some senior officers."

Guess I missed the memo that Islam is now a "race."

Oh, of course not.(How stupid to they think the public would be. And they wonder why the media and all has lost credibility.) Give me a break.

Phobia? I think not. An eye for an eye, maybe. Tired of Islamabums getting every stinking benefit of a doubt with regard to violence, hate and intolerance, the very things we are so willing engage in self flagellation for. Political correctness is for total morons and deconstuctionists also.

Kamal Raza Butt

Now that's just cruel...

As far as the term "Islamophoia" goes - it's nonsense! Of course people fear those whose sole ideology is to kill all infidels & apostates and take over the world! There is NOTHING "irrational" in fearing that, as the term Islamophobia would suggest.

Islamophobic? Is that another way of saying, "observing reality and applying logic to form a rational opinion"?

Doesn't "phobia" mean an irrational fear of something? In my opinion, fearing Islam is completely rational.

How is beating an old man to death "an eye for an eye"?

You're saying this guy was one of the bombers? Otherwise you don't know what "eye for an eye" means.

...described the incident as racially aggravated, not as Islamophobic...

Used to be that a "phobia" meant an irrational fear of something--heights, spiders, the number 13, etc., and manifested itself as a neurotic need to avoid the object of fear. Now it appears that "phobia" means an aggressive attack on something or someone--IOW, the exact opposite of what it used to mean.

Islamophobic

Isn't a "phobia" an irrational fear? Well, considering that Islam is a cult of death that has hundreds of millions of adherents, fearing Islamics certainly isn't irrational. ....although the hooligans should've found a more appropriate target for their rage than innocent, poor Mr. Camel Butt. Find some actual Jihadists.

Nottinghamshire police described the incident as racially aggravated, not as Islamophobic...

The British physician Theodore Dalrymple has written a devastating book titled "Life at the Bottom". It describes how political correctness and the welfare-state mentality have developed so firm a grip on Great Britain that its police officers often fail to respond to crimes at all. And when they do, they're more likely to take action on crimes against minorities than on crimes against whites. Assuming this is a race crime is unfortunately too typical of British police work today.

If England's Islamic leaders have been saying the things their American co-religionists have been saying, it is little wonder that Englishmen are taking things less than calmly, considering recent events.

Those who declare war can expect casualties.

And, as I remember, Islam is not the native religion of England.

Calling for sharia law, and demanding that your host nation accept the egregiously abusive slave status afforded the "dhimmi" under sharia law, is likely to eventually result in either the expulsion/execution of Islam in England OR the forced revision of Islam.

We Americans did the forced revision thingie with the Mormons. It worked.

After their faith was forcibly changed from antithetical to the American culture to congruent with American culture, Mormons proved to be valued citizens.

Given that England's Muslims were motivated enough to emmigrate in the first place, and given that such foreign born have proven productive in America, England can expect their Muslims to also be productive once their faith is changed to make it compatible with Western civilization.

The term "make it compatible" was used deliberately, as history indicates that such religious change must be imposed by force of arms.

Just a comment. No description of the ethnicity of the attackers. In the US that usually means they're black, as if white the headline would identify them as such.
