Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) issued the following statement about the Supreme Court vacancy following Sandra Day OConnors resignation:
Im baffled by Senators demanding that President Bush reach out to them in appointing a justice to the Supreme Court. Last time I read it, the Constitution says advise and consent not complain and filibuster. The Salazar-McCain liberal 14 cant be allowed to control a judicial branch again.
I hope the President steps up to the plate and delivers on his mandate. More than 62 million Americans didnt show up at the voting booth to put an ACLU lefty on the bench.
The Liberal 14...I like it.
Tancredo's right on the money.
I agree with you.
Love that last statement! Hit the nail on the head.
Yes he did.
Go Tancredo. Dobbs is great too. I want to hear Tancredo on the Right to Life. Where is he at on that? Has Tancredo serverd in the Military?
and Mr. President. Lets go baby, nominate and BRING IT ON. The libs want to go to war, lets give em what they ask for.
Cong. Tancredo did not serve in the military. Thank you for your service to our country TomasUSMC.
Cong. Tancredo is strongly pro-life. Cong. Tancredo was rated 0% by NARAL in December 2003. Here is a link to a website that provides a list of ten (10) votes by Cong. Tancredo'on the subject of abortion: http://www.ontheissues.org/House/Tom_Tancredo.htm . It also provides a list of votes on many other subjects.
In March 2005, Cong. Tancredo received the "Taxpayers' Friend Award" from the National Taxypayers Union (NTU). According to the NTU, Cong. Tancredo was given an "A" rating by the NTU for being one of the strongest supporters of responsible tax and spending policies in Congress. Here is a link to the NTU's list of "2004 Taxpayer Friends": http://www.ntu.org/main/page.php?PageID=75 . Cong. Tancredo ranked twelth (12th) highest in the entire House of Representatives in NTU's ratings.
In May 3, 2005, Cong. Tancredo received one of the "Best & Brightest" awards from the American Conservative Union (ACU). The ACU recognized those members of the U.S. Congress who recorded a perfect score of one hundred percent (100%) in the ACU ratings. Here is a link to the ACU's web page with photos of May 3, 2005, ceremony at which the "Best & Brightest" awards were given: http://conservative.org/pressroom/bestbrightest.asp . The ACU ratings are based on how representatives voted during twenty-five (25) votes. Cong. Tancredo achieved his perfect score with none of the votes having anything to do with immigration.
Trancredo in 08- I reckon he will protect our borders.
Let's hope that this isn't W's "Read my lips!" moment.
Thanks for this info. I have tried pointing out the same thing -- that Tancredo has a nearly impeccable conservative voting record -- when some try to tar and feather him for daring to point out the truth of the matter about President Bush and immigration; i.e. that Bush is awful, even worse than Clinton since Bush is a Republican.
I wasn't too happy with his criticism of Tom DeLay, mainly because it reaked of the type of media whoring that many Republicans do, but overall Tancredo has proven himself as a solid conservative worthy of support.
Considering that Coors lost, I wish he had ran against Salazar now.
Agreed.
Apparently, many powerful Republicans in Colorado did not want Cong. Tancredo to be the Republican nominee for the United States Senate seat. Those Republicans were afraid of Cong. Tancredo making immigration reform a major part of a Tancredo senatorial campaign. I hope those Repbulicans are enjoying Sen. Salazar and his support for rewarding illegal aliens wiht legal status. Cong. Tancredo could have beaten him if the Repubulican establishment had supported him.
Didn't GWB send three names to the Senate Leadership, only to have Dingy Harry give a thumbs down to all three?
I'm with you, Mr. Tancredo.
I have not heard about that.
I hope President Bush nominates Janice Rogers Brown.
