UK Blasts 'Eerie Reminder' of Sept. 11 -Giuliani

Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was in London on Thursday when four bomb explosions rocked the British capital, and said the blasts were an "eerie reminder" of the Sept. 11 attacks in the United States

Giuliani, whose response to the 2001 hijacked airliner attacks won him worldwide praise, said he had been close to London's Liverpool Street station when the first bomb exploded in an underground train nearby.

"We could hear the sirens, and then we kept getting reports of more bombings in different parts of the city," he told Sky television.

"They were a very eerie reminder of Sept. 11."

Giuliani said he was impressed by the calm response of Londoners.

"As we were walking through and driving through the streets of the city, it was remarkable how the people of London responded calmly," he said.

"I think every New Yorker will probably join me in saying that we very, very much understand what you are going through, and this is a difficult time but the people of London have responded in exactly the right way."

Giuliani said that after the Sept. 11 attacks, New Yorkers had tried to match the bravery shown by Londoners during German air raids in World War II.

"A lot of our response to September 11 was modeling ourselves as much as we could on the people of London back during the Second World War," he said.

This is how I like Rudy. As a great speaker, patriot, and strong leader. Not as President.

Giuliani is a great orator, particularly when the going gets tough. He has a gift in that, for certain.

So Rudy was in London on 7/7 as he was in New York on 9/11.

Hmmmm... pattern developing?

Seems to me that's the "eerie" part of all this.

I hadn't realized that Guliani was in London today. Poor man...he's seen so many sights he'll never forget.

Rudy is a true American Hero and Icon! I hope he runs for higher office in the future. He is a No B.S. Guy.

I'll take him as WOT president anyday. I would rather have him in office protecting us then those wimps in the Senate.

"They were a very eerie reminder of Sept. 11."

You want reminders of 9/11 Rudy?

There's more where these came from if you really need a reminder.

You're right, that second photo is one I've never seen before. It makes me sick to think of what those people went through. Imagine having to make a decision whether to jump or burn....may the terrorists rot in hell.

It is just amazing that he was there. Unfortunately I think we can expect his presence to be used by the nuts as "proof" the governments were involved, but in a situation like this, there are few people I would rather have speaking for us.

I'm glad to see some non-sanitized 9/11 pics out there. I try to keep my anger boiling. I vowed 9/11/01 to NEVER FORGET, and I don't intend to.
